CITY OF VERONA MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER COMMITTEE MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2016 1. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Touchett at 5:02pm. 2. Roll Call: Present: Mac McGilvray, Evan Touchett, Luke Diaz. Also present: Theran Jacobson, Director of Public Works; Jeff Mikorski, City Administrator; Jeff Montpas, AECOM. 3. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Touchett, to approve the minutes of the January 9, 2017 meeting of the Public Works/Sewer and Water Committee. Motion carried 3-0. 4. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Diaz, to recommend approval of Change Order No. 2 for ID 2016-109 project 4 Bike Lane Striping. Motion carried 3-0. 5. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Touchett, to recommend approval of Change Order No. 1 for ID 2016-112 VACT parking lot. Motion carried 2-0 with McGilvray Abstaining. 6. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to recommend approval of Change Order No. 2 for ID 2016-105 Downtown Streets Reconstruction. Motion carried 3-0. 7. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to recommend approval of Kundu Insurance Claim in amount of $2,963.99. Motion carried 2-1 with McGilvray voting no. 8. Mr. Jacobson presented structural options for ID 2016-109 project 10 pedestrian crossing of Badger Mill Creek along CTH M (S. Main Street). Four options were evaluated to determine constructability, costs, benefits, and others. Mr. Jacobson noted the preferred alternative is extending the box culvert to accommodate a 5’ sidewalk. No vote was taken as this was presented as information to the committee and the next step in the process is to design and construct the project. This project would be bundled with others as noted in the Pedestrian and Bike study; such as locust sidewalk, refuge island at CTH M / Locust, culvert modifications, sidewalk to connect to S. Main Street, and potentially the sidewalk and path along CTH M to Whalen Road. 9. Mr. Jacobson noted a discussion to properly identify the bike loops as noted in the Pedestrian and Bike study. Discussion concluded to name the loops by color. Overlapping colors will be required for connecting loops. 10. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz to adjourn at 5:53pm. Motion carried 3-0.
