CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER COMMITTEE AGENDA MONDAY, June 10, 2024 5:30 P.M. VERONA CITY CENTER, ROOM D122 111 LINCOLN STREET VERONA, WI 53593 Agenda Items 1. Call to order: Meeting called to order by B. Tucker Long at 5:32pm. 2. Roll call: Beth Tucker Long, Brandon Braithwaite. Also in attendance Carla Fischer (AECOM), Adam Waszak, Interim Director of Public Works, Jamie Aulik, City Administrator. 3. Public Comment. 4. Approval of the Minutes: May 13, 202: Moved by B. Tucker Long with corrections made to the spelling of S. Harrison’s name and seconded by B. Braithwaite. Motion carried 2-0. 5. Discussion and Possible Action: Pay Request #2 Project 2023-105. Moved by B. Braithwaite and seconded by B. Tucker Long. Motion carried 2-0. 6. Discussion and Possible Action: Project 2024-105 (Mark Drive) Sidewalk Discussion. A. Waszak clarified that sidewalk is not included in the scope for Project 2024-105. Prior direction from the Public Works/Sewer & Water Committee indicated unless key connection to public facilities could be made (i.e parks, schools, etc) the addition of sidewalk should not be included in road reconstruction projects. Jason, a resident of Mark Drive, stated his concerns with how the installation of new sidewalks would affect grades of front yards. B. Braithwaite indicated he would like to see a more defined process created for identifying sidewalks/Trails as part of City’s street maintenance program. B. Tucker Long stated that Staff should explore the option of extending a small section of sidewalk along the northbound lane of Todd St. B. Braithwaite confirmed. No action taken. 7. Staff Report: 7.1 Stom Cleanup Update A. Waszak stated that crews had completed a full sweep of the City twice since the May wind storm. Curbside brush collection will resume at the normal schedule. 7.2 Curbside Brush Collection Policy A. Waszak indicated that staff will be bringing forward suggested changes to the City’s curbside brush collection policy. B. Tucker Long encouraged staff to look at implementing a request process for curbside collection. 8. Adjourn: Motion by B. Tucker Long and seconded by B. Braithwaite to adjourn at 6:23on. Motion carried 2-0. Discussion and Possible Action: Design Engineering Services Agreement – Mark Drive Project #2024- 105 (AECOM) A. Waszak clarified that the phase 1 would start at the eastern project limits and extend to roughly 300’ east of Sheele ct. Moved by S. Lokken and seconded by B. Braithwaite. Motion carried 3-0. 7. Discussion and Possible Action: Pay Request #1 Project 2023-105. Moved by B. Tucker Long and seconded by S. Lokken. Motion carried 3-0. 8. Staff Report: Eastview Reconstruct (Project #2023-105): A. Waszak updated the project is on schedule and paving should begin at the end of August. West Road Project: A. Waszak updated the Committee on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Public Hearing that was held on May 9th. 9. Adjourn Motion to adjourn at m by B. Tucker Long and seconded by S. Lokken.
