Adopt Agenda DELETE: Executive Session: Retirement - Fire Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to adopt the Agenda as amended. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson A. ID-15-0008 Employee Anniversaries: 1. 15 years of service: Fire - Daryl Carson Mayor Flaggs recognized Daryl Carson in the Fire Department with fifteen (15) years of service. The Mayor and Aldermen congratulated Daryl Carson for fifteen years of service with the City of Vicksburg. Routine Agenda: A. ID-15-0001 Vicksburg Convention Center Updates Ms. Annette Kirklin, of the Vicksburg Convention Center, came before the Board to inform the public of the upcoming events at the Vicksburg Convention Center for the month of January 2015 and invited the public to attend. The Mayor and Aldermen thanked Ms. Kirklin for attending the meeting. B. ID-15-0003 Approve request from Grace Christian Counseling Center for the 7th Annual "Chill in the Hills" 10K Run, 5K Walk, and 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, January 17, 2015 Attachments: GCCC On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the request from Grace Christian Counseling Center for the 7th Annual "Chill in the Hills" 10K Run, 5K Walk, and 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, January 17, 2015. On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Claims Docket. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson Executive Session: Alderman Mayfield moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Thompson. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Thompson. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously adopted. The Mayor and Aldermen discuss whether or not they should go into executive session. Alderman Mayfield moved to go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for Longevity Pay in the Fire Department (1); New Hires in the Police Department (3); IT Department (1); Fire Department (9); Retirement in the Fire Department (1). The motion was seconded by Alderman Thompson, and upon vote being taken, the following voting aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Thompson. None voting nay, the motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for Longevity Pay in the Fire Department (1); New Hires in the Police Department (3); IT Department (1); Fire Department (9); Retirement in the Fire Department (1). The motion was seconded by Alderman Thompson, and upon vote being taken, the following voting aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Thompson. None voting nay, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg went into executive session to discuss the following Personnel Action Forms for Longevity Pay in the Fire Department (1); New Hires in the Police Department (3); IT Department (1); Fire Department (9); Retirement in the Fire Department (1). The Mayor and Aldermen are now in executive session. Those present at the executive session were Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Thompson, Nancy Thomas - City Attorney, Walter W. Osborne, Jr. - City Clerk, Brian Boykins - Mayor’s Administrative Assistant, Walterine Langford - Human Resource Director, Tasha W. Jordan - Deputy City Clerk, Danitta Reed - Southward's Administrative Assistant. Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson Personnel Matters: A. ID-15-0009 Longevity - Fire Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Longevity Pay EMS Paramedic at $16.02 per hour to $16.09 per hour for 15 years of service in the Fire Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson B. ID-15-0010 New Hires - Police Department (3) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve New Hires for Police Officer at $14.37 per hour, Police Officer at $13.65 per hour, Police Officer at $13.65 per hour in the Police Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson C. ID-15-0011 New Hire - IT (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve New Hire for Computer Technician at $14.42 per hour in the IT Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson D.
