ID-15-0263 Approve request from RiverFest, Inc. regarding 1st Riverfest 5K Run/Walk Attachments: Riverfest On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve request from RiverFest, Inc. regarding 1st Riverfest 5K Run/Walk for permission to host the 1st Riverfest 5K run/walk on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Downtown Vicksburg and assistance from the City's Traffic, Police, Community Services, Building Maintenance, ROW and Street Departments. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson E. ID-15-0247 Alderman Mayfield recused himself from the Board Meeting. Approve request from The Salvation Army in the amount of $1,500.00 to support these three (3) initiatives during 2015: 1. Book Bag Project 2. STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering and Math) Program 3. Kicks for Hope Soccer Camp Attachments: Salvation Army.pdf Alderman Mayfield recused himself from the Board Meeting. On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Mayor Flaggs, the Mayor and Alderman voted to approve allocation of funds in the amount of $1,500.00 to The Salvation Army to help support these three (3) initiatives during 2015: Book Bag Project; STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering and Math) Program; Kicks for Hope Soccer Camp. The City is authorized pursuant to Sec. 21-19-65 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, for matching funds for social and community service programs and the City is matching these funds. The Mayor and Aldermen discuss whether or not they should go into executive session. Alderman Mayfield moved to go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for New Hire in the Community Development Department (1), Retro-Pay Adjustments in the Police Department (2); Suspension in the Street Department (1), Animal Control Department (1); Termination in the Gas Department (1); Permission to Post in the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Department (4), Sewer Department (1), Gas Department (1). The motion seconded by Alderman Thompson, and upon vote being taken, the following voting aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Thompson. None voting nay, the motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for New Hire in the Community Development Department (1), Retro-Pay Adjustments in the Police Department (2); Suspension in the Street Department (1), Animal Control Department (1); Termination in the Gas Department (1); Permission to Post in the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Department (4), Sewer Department (1), Gas Department (1). ID-15-0266 New Hire - Community Development (1) On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve New Hire for Code Enforcement at $16.82 per hour in the Community Development Department.
