ID-15-0623 Southern Cultural Heritage Center Updates Ms. Stacey Massey, of the Southern Cultural Heritage Center, came before the Board to inform the public of the upcoming events at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center for the month of June 2015 and invited the public to attend. The Mayor and Aldermen thanked Ms. Massey for attending the meeting. On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and unanimously passed, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the purchase of a half page ad from King Solomon Baptist Church for its 5th Annual Family Empowerment Weekend Souvenir Booklet in the amount of $75.00. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson O. ID-15-0630 Alderman Mayfield recused himself from the Board Meeting. Approve request for golf sponsorship from Mississippi Children's Home Services Attachments: Golf Sponsorship Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from Warren County Children's Shelter will bring into favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities and resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be helpful toward advancing the moral, financial and other interest of the City of Vicksburg. On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Thompson, and unanimously passed, The Mayor and Alderman of the City of Vicksburg approved the sponsorship of a golf hole ad from Warren County Children's Shelter Golf Championship in the amount of $100.00. The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive session. Alderman Thompson moved to go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for New Hires in the MDOT Summer Youth (10), Recreation/Tennis Department (1), Water and Gas Administration (2), Summer Youth (1); Department Transfers in the Summer Youth (2); Promotions in the Fire Department (2); Interim Promotion in the Animal Control Department (1); Pay Adjustment in the Fire Department (2), Recreation/Jackson Street (3); Resignations in the Police Department (2); Retirement in the Public Works Department (1); Suspension in the Street Department (1), Police Department (1); Terminations in the Gas Department (1); Permission to Post in the Gas Department (1); Pay Adjustments in the Summer Youth (2). The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and upon vote being taken, the following voting aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Thompson.
