Street
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to open the Public Hearing for the Slum Clearance
Assessment for PPIN 15165, 2427 Oak Street. The Mayor and Alderman
authorized Victor Gray-Lewis, Director of Community Development to assess the
$20,754.02 cost to the tax roll. The motion was adopted unanimously by the
following vote:

A. ID-16-642 Vicksburg Convention Center Updates
Ms. Annette Kirklin, of the Vicksburg Convention Center, came before the Board
to inform the public of the upcoming events at the Vicksburg Convention Center
for the month of June 2016 and invited the public to attend.
The Mayor and Aldermen thanked Ms. Kirklin for attending the meeting.
B. ID-16-643 Approve letter to Kansas City Southern Railroad regarding street
closures for the 2016 Miss Mississippi Pageant to be held on Saturday,
June 25, 2016

Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from Vicksburg
Homecoming Benevolent Club will bring into favorable notice the opportunities,
possibilities and resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be helpful toward
advancing the moral, financial and other interest of the City of Vicksburg.
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, and
unanimously passed, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved
the purchase of a full page ad from Vicksburg Homecoming Benevolent Club for
its 41st Annual Homecoming in the amount of $1,000.00. The motion was
adopted unanimously by the following vote:

G. ID-16-667 Approve request from Pigs-In-Flight Children's Museum for allocation of
funds in the amount of $10,000.00

and Aldermen voted to approve allocation of funds in the amount of $10,000.00 to
the Pigs - In-Flight Children's Museum. The City is authorized pursuant to Sec.
17-3-1 and 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended. This brings into
favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities & resources of the City and will
be helpful toward advancing the moral, financial and other interests of the City.

Executive Session:
Alderman Thompson moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to
determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was
seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman
Thompson, Alderman Mayfield. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously
adopted.
The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive
session. Alderman Mayfield moved to go into executive session to discuss

Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Longevity Pay for Electrician I from
$20.30 per hour to $20.39 per hour in the Building Maintenance Department,
for five (5) years of service. The motion was adopted unanimously by the

B. ID-16-677 New Hires - Recreation Programs/City Pool (3)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the

Lifeguards at $7.75 per hour, Returning Lifeguard at $7.50 per hour in the
Recreation Programs/City Pool. The motion was adopted unanimously by the
