On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor

On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to accept and refer the foregoing bids to the Purchasing
Department and Various Departments for review and recommendation back to

C. ID-16-760 Approve request for advertisement from Old Man River Quiltfest, Inc.

Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from Old Man River
Quiltfest, Inc. will bring into favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities and
resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be helpful toward advancing the
moral, financial and other interest of the City of Vicksburg.
On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and
unanimously passed, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved
the purchase of advertisement from Old Man River Quiltfest, Inc. in the amount of
$5,000.00. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote:

On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, and

Executive Session:
Alderman Thompson moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to
determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was
seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman
Thompson, Alderman Mayfield. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously
adopted.
The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive
session. Alderman Mayfield moved to go into executive session to discuss
Personnel Action Forms for New Hire in the Water Maintenance Department (1),
Street Department (1), Police Department (1); New Hire/Reaffirmed - MDOT
Summer Student in the Building Maintenance Department (1); New Hires in the

Date/Pay Adjustment - MDOT Summer Youth - Building Maintenance Department

On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the

H. ID-16-791 Pay Adjustments - Fire Department (2)
On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the
Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Pay Adjustments for Captain I at
$13.04 per hour to Captain II at $13.29 per hour, Captain V+ at $15.69 per hour
to $15.95 per hour in the Fire Department. The motion was adopted
unanimously by the following vote:

I. ID-16-792 Amended Hire Date/Pay Adjustment - MDOT Summer Youth -
Building Maintenance Department (1)
On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the
Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Amended Hire Date/Pay
Adjustment for MDOT Summer Youth Team Leader at $10.00 per hour to
MDOT Summer Youth Worker at $7.25 per hour in the Building Maintenance
Department. The hire date changed from June 13, 2016 to June 20, 2016. The
