On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., and unanimously passed, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the purchase of a sponsorship ad from Living Independence for Everyone (L.I.F.E.) organization for its 2018 Annual Bridging the Gap 5K Walk/Run/Stroll or Roll-a-Thon on October 6, 2018 in the amount of $500.00. The City is authorized pursuant to Sec. 17-3-1 and 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972. ID-18-1082 Approve request for sponsorship in the amount of $100.00 from Vicksburg Realtors for their golf tournament pursuant to Section 17-3-1 and Section 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code Attachments: Vicksburg Realtors Golf Event Sponsorship Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from Vicksburg-Warren County Board of Realtors will bring into favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities and resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be helpful toward advancing the moral, financial and other interest of the City of Vicksburg. On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and unanimously passed, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the purchase of a hole sponsorship ad from Vicksburg-County Board Realtors Golf Tournament in the amount of $100.00. The City is authorized pursuant to Sec. 17-3-1 and 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. D.1 ID-18-1122 Approve request for sponsorship in the amount of $607.76 from Rosa A. Temple High School Reunion of Classes (1959-1973) pursuant to Section 17-3-1 and Section 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code Attachments: Temple High Sponsorship Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from The Rosa A. On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., and unanimously passed, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the purchase of a sponsorship ad from The Rosa A. Temple High School Reunion of Classes (1959-1973) in the amount of $607.76. The City is authorized pursuant to Sec. 17-3-1 and 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972. The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive session. ID-18-1095 New Hire - Human Resources (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve New Hire for Interim Director at $65,000.00 annually in the Human Resource Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. B. ID-18-1096 Departmental Transfer - North Ward Alderman's Office to VTV (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Departmental Transfer for Liaison at $16.48 per hour in the North Ward Alderman's Office to Director at $18.87 per hour in the VTV Department, and approve Request to Post for North Ward Alderman's Administrative Assistant position. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. C. ID-18-1097 Promotion - Building Maintenance (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Promotion from Custodian at $10.47 per hour to Head Custodian at $12.47 per hour in the Building Maintenance Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. D. ID-18-1098 Pay Adjustments - Police Department (2) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Pay Adjustments for Police Officer $14.15 per hour to $14.35 per hour, Police Officer from $15.30 per hour to $15.50 per hour in the Police Department. ID-18-1099 Retro Pay Adjustment - Building Maintenance (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Retro Pay Adjustment for Head Custodian in the Building Maintenance Department. Employee was Interim Head Custodian as of June 30, 2018. Employee is entitled to retroactive pay in the amount of $798.28 calculated at his new rate of $12.47 per hour. Employee's schedule shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m with a two hour lunch break. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. F. ID-18-1100 Retro Pay Adjustment - Police Department (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Retro Pay Adjustment for Patrol Officer in the Police Department. Employee is entitled to retro pay in the amount of $556.40 for specialized duty pay (FTO) from August 04, 2018 through August 14, 2018. Retro pay is calculated as follows: 75.20 (hours) x .75 = $56.40. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. G. ID-18-1101 Resignation - Parks & Recreation Maintenance (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to accept the Resignation from Laborer in the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Department, effective August 17, 2018. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. H. ID-18-1102 Suspension - Police Department (1) This Agenda Item continued until August 24, 2018. I. ID-18-1104 Termination - Gas Department (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Termination for Foreman in the Gas Department, effective August 20, 2018. ID-18-1105 Reimbursement - Police Department (1) This Agenda Item was removed. K. ID-18-1106 Discussion Matter - Fire Department (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen held a discussion on a Fire Fighter and voted to approve the Military Leave in the Fire Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. L. ID-18-1112 Discussion Matter - Public Works Department (3) This Agenda Item was tabled until August 24, 2018. M.
