The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive session. ID-19-0222 Pay Adjustment - Fire Department (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Pay Adjustment of Firefighter III at $10.27 per hour to Firefighter I at $9.25 per hour, effective February 25, 2019. Employee was demoted to probationary status (Firefighter I) for eighth (8th) occurrence of unapproved absences within one (1) year in the Fire Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. B. ID-19-0223 Retro Pay Adjustment - Gas Department (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Retro Pay Adjustment of a Gas Serviceman at $8.80 per hour to $9.60 per hour, effective February 4, 2019. This pay adjustment is to correct employee's pay from a mistake that was made in 2016 in the Gas Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. C. ID-19-0224 Retro Pay - Gas Department (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Retro Pay of a Serviceman for a total of $2,990.36 in the Gas Department. Retro pay is to pay employee for hours worked between November 2, 2016, to February 13, 2019, whereas employee did not receive his new rate of pay for his promotion to Foreman/Serviceman in 2016 to the rate of $9.00 per hour. While receiving foreman pay, employee calculations for cost of living raise for 2017 along with 2018 were calculated incorrectly. Employee is due $97.14 from December 2, 2016, to February 13, 2019, for hours worked at .02 cents per hour short. Employee is due .50 cents an hour from November 2, 2016, to February 13, 2019, for hours worked at $2,529.69. Employee is due .28 cents per hour from July 4, 2018, to February 13, 2019, at $363.53 for hours worked. Employee violated Vicksburg Fire Department Standard Operating Guideline 12.1.75 Attendance Policy for 24-Hour Shift Employees, six (6) occurrences.The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. ID-19-0294 Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session.
