On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., and unanimously passed, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the purchase of a sponsorship ad from the NAACP Vicksburg Branch in the amount of $100.00 for their 21st Annual Freedom Fund Celebration. The City is authorized pursuant to Section 17-3-1 and 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972. D. ID-19-1285 Approve request for advertisement in the amount of $2,500.00 from The Vicksburg Post for a one year comics strip sponsorship pursuant to Section 17-3-1 and Section 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code Attachments: Comic Strip Advertisement Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from The Vicksburg Post will bring into favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities and resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be helpful toward advancing the moral, financial and other interest of the City of Vicksburg. On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., and unanimously passed, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the purchase of a sponsorship ad from The Vicksburg Post in the amount of $2,500.00 for one (1) year comics strip. The City is authorized pursuant to Section 17-3-1 and Section 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972. E. ID-19-1283 Discuss Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau Updates Ms. Laura Beth Strickland, of the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, came before the Board to inform the public of the upcoming events at the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau for the month of November 2019 and invited the public to attend. The Mayor and Aldermen thanked Ms. Strickland for attending the meeting. D. ID-19-1310 Pay Adjustments - Fire Department (3) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Pay Adjustments of a Firefighter I from $9.53 per hour to Firefighter III at $10.58 per hour, effective October 23, 2019. Employee has met requirements for increase in Tier Pay System; a Captain III from $14.88 ($14.69 + .19) per hour to a Captain IV at $15.18 ($14.99 + .19) per hour, effective October 23, 2019. Employee has met requirements for increase in Tier Pay System (which includes 15 years' of longevity pay of .19 cents); a Captain IV from $15.18 ($14.99 + .19) to a Captain V at $15.50 ($15.31 + .19) per hour, effective October 23, 2019. Employee has met requirements for increase in Tier Pay System (includes 15 years' longevity pay of .19 cents) in the Fire Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. B. ID-19-1311 Pay Adjustment - Ambulance (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Pay Adjustment of a Captain Paramedic V+I at $18.26 ($18.07 + .19) to $18.52 ($18.33 + .19) per hour, effective October 23, 2019, in the Ambulance Department. Employee has met requirements for increase in Tier Pay System (included 15 years' longevity pay of .19 cents). The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. C. ID-19-1312 Promotion - Police Department (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Promotion of a Patrol Commander from $35.87 ($35.52 + .35) per hour to a Deputy Chief of Patrol, effective November 1, 2019, in the Police Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. D. ID-19-1313 Longevity Pay - City Clerk's Office (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the ten (10) years of Longevity Pay of a Deputy City Clerk from $19.78 ($19.69 + .09) to $19.86 ($19.69 + .09 + .08), effective November 5, 2019, in the City Clerk's Office. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. E. ID-19-1314 Longevity Pay - Police Records (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the five (5) year Longevity Pay of .09 cents of a Records Specialist from $10.96 per hour to $11.05 ($10.96 + .09) per hour, effective November 5, 2019, in the Police Records Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. F.
