On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and unanimously passed, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the purchase of a sponsorship ad from The Vicksburg Pose in the amount of $75.00 for its Adopt A Pet section of the newspaper. ID-20-0369 Approve Claims Docket The City Clerk presented the Docket of Claims numbering: 161292 (1 check). On motion of Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfileld, the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman voted to approve the Claims Docket. The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Voting aye, MayorPro-Tem Monsour, Jr., Alderman Mayfield. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously adopted. The MayorPro-Tem and Alderman discussed whether or not they should go into executive session. Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour,Jr., moved to go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Pay Adjustment in the Fire Department (1), Suspension in the Fire Department (1). The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Upon vote being taken, the following voted aye: Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., Alderman Mayfield. The motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Pay Adjustment in the Fire Department (1), Suspension in the Fire Department (1). The Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman are now in executive session. Those present at the executive session were Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., Alderman Mayfield, Nancy Thomas - City Attorney, Walter W. Osborne, Jr. - City Clerk, Fermika Smith - Interim Human Resource Director, Tasha W. Jordan - Deputy City Clerk. Aye: 2- Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. Absent: 1- Mayor Flaggs A. ID-20-0364 Pay Adjustment - Fire Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman voted to approve the Pay Adjustment of a Captain V from $15.56 ($15.31+.25) per hour to a Captain V (+1) at $15.82 ($15.57+.25) per hour, effective January 29, 2020 in the Fire Department. Employee has met requirements for increase in Tier Pay System and includes longevity pay of .25 cents for twenty (20) years of service. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 2- Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. Absent: 1- Mayor Flaggs B. ID-20-0365 Suspension - Fire Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman voted to approve the Suspension of a Firefighter III for 24 hours + 24 hours (2 shifts) = 48 hours, effective Shifts of April 27 and April 30, 2020 in the Fire Department. Employee violated Relief of Duty, Absent Without Leave, Third Offense (suspend 24 hours without pay), which also resulted in a 6th occurrence of unapproved leave (suspend 24 hours without pay). The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 2- Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. Absent: 1- Mayor Flaggs C. ID-20-0387 Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman voted to Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session.
