On motion of Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman voted to approve the Claims Docket. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 2- Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. Recused: 1- Mayor Flaggs Mayor Flaggs returned to the Board Meeting. Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr. is now Alderman Monsour, Jr. L. ID-20-0728 Authorize $500.00 contribution to Sidetraxx for advertising pursuant to 17-3-1 and 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code for community drive-in movie night Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from Sidetraxx will bring into favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities and resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be helpful toward advancing the moral, financial and other interest of the City of Vicksburg. On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and unanimously passed, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the purchase of a sponsorship ad from Sidetraxx in the amount of $500.00 for a community drive-in movie night. The City is authorized pursuant to Section 17-3-1 and 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972. Executive Session: Mayor Flaggs moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Monsour, Jr. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously adopted. The motion was seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr. Upon vote being taken, the following voted aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Monsour, Jr. The motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Longevity Pay in the Gas Department (1); Suspension in the Gas Department (1); Suspension in the Water Department (1). The Mayor and Aldermen are now in executive session. Those present at the executive session were Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Monsour, Jr., Nancy Thomas - City Attorney, Walter W. Osborne, Jr. - City Clerk, Fermika Smith - Interim Human Resource Director, Tasha W. ID-20-0722 Longevity Pay - Gas Department (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the .09 cent Longevity Pay of a Meter Reader from $12.35 ($12.18 + .09 + .08) per hour for fifteen (15) years of service to $12.44 ($12.18 + .09 + .08 + .09) per hour, effective August 1, 2020, in the Gas Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. B. ID-20-0723 Suspension - Gas Department (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Suspension of a Laborer for two (2) days, effective July 24, 2020 in the Gas Department. Employee failed to comply with the City of Vicksburg Attendance Police 7.4 (c), (i), (ii). The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. C. ID-20-0724 Suspension - Water Department (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Suspension of a Foreman for five (5) days, effective July 24, 2020 in the Water Department. Foreman had an incident which occurred on the yard where employees ran over a pipe that was positioned partly in the drivers route to park the vehicle. Employee became argumentative with supervisors after being told he needed to submit to a drug screen. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. D. ID-20-0750 Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session.
