The City is authorized pursuant to Section 93-21-115 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, for municipalities to support local domestic abuse shelters. D. ID-21-0332 Approve request for advertisement in the amount of $840.00 from the Inaugural Committee for The Inauguration of Dr. Felecia M. ID-21-0345 Discuss Southern Cultural Heritage Center Updates (Stacey Mahoney) Ms. Stacy Mahoney, of Southern Cultural Heritage Center, came before the Board to inform the public of the upcoming events at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center for the month of April 2021 and invited the public to attend. The Mayor and Aldermen thanked Ms. Mahoney for attending the meeting. B. The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield, upon vote being taken, the following voting aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Monsour, Jr. The motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Longevity Pay in the Building Maintenance Department (1), Transfer/Pay Adjustment in the Community Development Department (1). The Mayor and Aldermen are now in executive session. Those present at the executive session were Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Monsour, Jr., Nancy Thomas - City Attorney, Walter W. Osborne, Jr. - City Clerk, Fermika Smith – Interim Human Resource Director, Tasha W. Jordan - Deputy City Clerk, Sam Andrews - Mayor’s Administrative Assistant, Tabitha Martin-Crawford - Compliance Officer. Aye: 3- Alderman Monsour Jr., Alderman Mayfield, and Mayor Flaggs A. ID-21-0350 Longevity Pay - Building Maintenance (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the .08 cent Longevity Pay of a Custodian from $9.84 ($9.75 + .09) per hour to $9.92 ($9.75 + .09 + .08) per hour, effective April 18, 2021 in the Building Maintenance Department. Employee is entitled to a .08 cent increase for ten (10) years of service. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderman Monsour Jr., Alderman Mayfield, and Mayor Flaggs B. ID-21-0351 Transfer/Pay Adjustment - Community Development (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Transfer/Pay Adjustment of a Housing Coordinator from $14.26 ($14.00 + .06) per hour to Senior Center Supervisor at $21.17 ($20.91 + .26) per hour, effective May 3, 2021. Employee will be transferring from Community Development back to the Senior Center. The Senior Center is scheduled to reopen on May 3, 2021. Status change from hourly to salary. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderman Monsour Jr., Alderman Mayfield, and Mayor Flaggs C. ID-21-0448 Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session.
