ID-21-1319 Authorize Mayor to execute Contract for Grass Cutting Services with Smith Lawn Care, Inc. Attachments: Smith Grass Cutting Contract On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, Sr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to authorize the Mayor to execute Contract for Grass Cutting Services with Smith Lawn Care, Inc. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderman Monsour Jr., Mayor Flaggs Jr., and Alderman Mayfield Sr. Executive Session: Mayor Flaggs,Jr., moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Monsour, Jr. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously adopted. The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive session. Mayor Flaggs, Jr., moved to go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Request for Extended Medical Leave in Water & Gas Administration (1); Pay Adjustments in the Police Department (2); Suspension in the Sewer Department (1); Suspension in the Ambulance Department (1). The motion was seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr. Upon vote being taken, the following voted aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Monsour, Jr. The motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Request for Extended Medical Leave in Water & Gas Administration (1); Pay Adjustments in the Police Department (2); Suspension in the Sewer Department (1); Suspension in the Ambulance Department (1). The Mayor and Aldermen are now in executive session. Those present at the executive session were Mayor Flaggs, Jr., Alderman Mayfield, Sr., Alderman Monsour, Jr., Kim Nailor - City Attorney, Monica Allen - Assistant City Attorney/Prosecutor, Walter W. Osborne, Jr. - City Clerk, Kelsey Conner - Human Resource/Safety Administrative Assistant, Tasha W. Aye: 3- Alderman Monsour Jr., Mayor Flaggs Jr., and Alderman Mayfield Sr. A. ID-21-1315 Request for Extended Medical Leave - Water & Gas Administration (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, Jr., seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Request for Extended Medical Leave of a Customer Service Representative for an additional thirty (30) days in the Water & Gas Administration. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderman Monsour Jr., Mayor Flaggs Jr., and Alderman Mayfield Sr. B. ID-21-1316 Pay Adjustment - Police Department (2) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, Jr., seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Pay Adjustment of a Patrol Officer from $17.45 per hour to $17.65 ($17.45 + .20) per hour, effective January 6, 2022. Officer is entitled to an additional .20 cents per hour for eight (8) years of service; a Crime Scene Investigator from $19.24 ($18.24 + $1.00) per hour to $19.44 ($18.24 + $1.00 + .20) per hour, effective January 13, 2022. Investigator is eligible for an additional .20 cents per hour increase for one (1) year of service in the Police Department. ID-21-1317 Suspension - Sewer Department (1) No action was taken. D. ID-21-1318 Suspension - Ambulance Department (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, Jr., seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Suspension of a Firefighter/Ambulance III for 24 hours (one shift), effective shift of January 4-5, 2022. Employee violated Vicksburg Fire Department Standard Operating Guidelines 12.1.75 Attendance Policy for 24-Hour Shift Employees, six (6) occurrences (11/20/2021) in the Ambulance Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderman Monsour Jr., Mayor Flaggs Jr., and Alderman Mayfield Sr. E. ID-21-1342 Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session On motion of Mayor Flaggs, Jr., seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session.
