Mayor Thompson stated that the sponsorship application submitted by Jillian
Norris on behalf of The Vicksburg Post for a 1/3 page ad in its annual 2025/2026
Live Vicksburg Chamber Guide Magazine in the amount of $575.00 will bring into
favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities, and resources of the City of
Vicksburg and will be helpful toward advancing the community and
Chamber-related interests of the City of Vicksburg.
The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved the sponsorship in
the amount of $575.00. The city is authorized pursuant to Section 17-3-1 and
Section 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.

attend. The Mayor and Aldermen thanked Ms. Mahoney for attending the
meeting.

discuss and request permission to proceed with the cut, cleanup, and demolition
of the following properties:

and Aldermen voted to declare the foregoing properties, which have not
complied, to be a public menace to the health, safety, and welfare of the

with the cut, cleanup, and demolition of structures, with all charges incurred to
be assessed against the property owner(s). In the event an extension is granted,
if the owner(s) has/have not complied at the end of the extension period, the
Director of Community Development is authorized to proceed with the necessary
actions.

adopted.
The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether they should go into executive

and Aldermen voted to Approve the Transfer/Pay Adjustment for the Parks &
Recreation Director at $30.88/ hour, to an Equipment Operator at $23.69/hour at
the Cemetery, effective September 17, 2025. The motion was adopted
unanimously by the following vote:

B. ID-25-1005 Pay Adjustment - Police (1)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderwoman Bailey, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to Approve
the Pay Adjustment for a Certified Officer-CID from a current hourly rate of $28.01
to a new hourly rate of $28.21, effective September 18, 2025. The employee is
entitled to an additional $.20/hr due to one year of service. The motion was
adopted unanimously by the following vote:

C. ID-25-1006 Longevity Pay - Administration (1)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderwoman Bailey, the Mayor

by changing the hourly rate from $15.18 to $15.38 (15.18 + .20), effective
September 18, 2025. The employee is entitled to an additional $.20 per hour
increase for one (1) year of service. The motion was adopted unanimously by the

hourly rate from $10.00 to $10.20 (10.00 + .20), effective September 18, 2025. The
employee is entitled to an additional $.20 per hour increase for one (1) year of

and Aldermen voted to Approve the Longevity Pay of a Specialist by changing
the hourly rate from $14.00 to $14.20 (14.00 + .20), effective September 18, 2025.
The employee is entitled to an additional $.20 per hour increase for one (1) year
of service. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote:

F. ID-25-1009 Longevity Pay - Building Maintenance (2)

changing the hourly rate from $18.25 to $18.45 (18.25 + .20), effective September
18, 2025. The employee is entitled to an additional $.20 per hour increase for one
(1) year of service; Longevity Pay of a Foreman by changing the hourly rate from
$16.86 to $18.86 (16.51 + .35 + 2.00), effective September 20, 2025. The employee
is entitled to an additional $2.00 per hour increase for thirty-five (35) years of

2025. The employee is entitled to an additional $2.00 per hour increase for thirty

L. ID-25-1015 Retro Pay - Police (1)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderwoman Bailey, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to Approve the Retro pay of a Captain, effective July16,
2025. The retro payment is to pay a Captain for hours worked during the past 4
pay periods from July 16th, 2025, until September 2, 2025. The employee worked
a total of regular hours of 290.38, a total of personal ($ 1,541.92)-vacation hours of
14.73 ($78.22), a total of holiday hours of 8.0 ($42.48) giving the employee total
hours of 313.12 at $35.00 an hour. It should have been $40.31 per hour in which
employee was short $5.31 an hour. The employee is due a retro pay amount of $
1662.61. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote:
