Approval of the Minutes: VPAC22-165 Approve minutes from the April 12 meeting 3. Regular Business VPAC22-166 VPAF Treasurer’s report and grant updates Mr. Cheselka reported the VPAF received $12 in donations at Walk on the Hill event VPAC22-167 Chairman’s report - LAM update • Patrick Henry Library mural – project is on the BAR agenda for approval for May 19. Painting will start after approval to be completed by the Liberty Amendments Month opening ceremony in June. VBA is the applicant. • Council work session on July 11 at 7 p.m. All VPAC members are encouraged to attend. • Town Attorney- Steve Briglia will be attending the June 21 VPAC meeting to explain VPAC’s role as an advisory commission to Council, and to answer any questions. VPAC22-168 Walk on the Hill review Walk on the Hill event booth and kids project went very well. VPAC22-169 Viva Vienna prep VPAC at Viva Vienna- Ms. Kennedy reported there is a need for more volunteers. Ms. Cousins suggested a sign up sheet “Friends of VPAF” for those interested in volunteering on projects and at events. Ms. Gambino will try to recruit student volunteers needing service hours. Kids craft will be Q-tip tree art painting. VPAC22-170 PAMP discussion, review and edits Master Plan- Mr. Cheselka will update the document with the edits done by five Town staff, with assistance from Ms. Cousins. Ms. Bruno made a motion to schedule a work session on June 21 at 6 p.m. to continue working on the PAMP to have a draft ready for Council to review prior to the July 11 Council work session. The motion was seconded by Mr. Comerford. The motion passed unanimously. VPAC22-171 Bylaws update VPAF bylaws- waiting for Town Attorney’s comments. VPAC22-172 Junior Girl Scouts’ painting project at Glyndon Park Junior Girl Scouts’ painting project at Glyndon Park- painting concrete culvert to represent the four seasons. Project postponed to June 4 due to inclement weather. VPAC22-173 Utility box painting update Utility box painting- proposed locations Gyldon Park and Caffi Field. Mr. Chesleka will find out if the Town owns those utility boxes, and will call the City of Fairfax to find out the process for wrapping a utility box. VPAC22-174 Vienna Inn Fundraiser- vote to approve Vienna Inn fundraiser- Ms. Biles made a motion to approve and move forward with the VPAF fundraiser at the Vienna Inn May 23-26 all day. Ms. Bruno seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 4. New Business VPAC22-175 Town Council work session, July 13, 7:30 p.m., at Town Hall Council work session on July 11 at 7 p.m. All VPAC members are encouraged to attend. VPAC22-176 Sunrise Vienna mural information Sunrise Vienna- proposed artwork on large wall in parking garage, done by their chosen artist. The mural will be a scene of native plants, trees and birds. VPAC22-177 Madison High School artwork display JMHS possible art installation. Ms. Bruno will talk to her contact person at the high school. Ms. Biles and Ms. Kennedy will work on other alternative sites for the student art installation. Ms. Cheselka will get approval from Council. VPAC22-178 Future public art projects, discussion Future public art projects- bring one idea to June 21 meeting or select one from the many ideas in the Master Plan. 5. Meeting Adjournment Ms. Aglio made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Ms. Biles. The motion passed unanimously.
