Meeting Minutes March 15, 2023 MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTE OF THE BOROUGH OF WALDWICK HELD ON THURSDAY February 16, 2023 AT 7:00 PM OPENING PORTION • Executive Director Mr. Mark Ramundo called the meeting to order and read the Statement of Compliance. • Mr. Ramundo took the roll call. Present on the roll call were Dr. Raina Parvanov-Dawson, Dr. Mohammad Quamrul Ahsan, David Zilkowski, Dan Montella, David Isaacs and Joe Oravetz. • Present from the public: None • Pledge of Allegiance was read. • Motion made to waive the reading of the minutes for the January 19, 2023 meeting. PUBLIC PORTION No comments from public OLD BUSINESS Sustainable NJ Bronze Action Items https://www.sustainablejersey.com/actions/ • Anti-Idling Action: o Mark Ramundo informed the committee that no update regarding Anti-idling signage was received from Patrick Wherry. • Backyard Composting Action: o Dave Zilkowski presented the Power Point presentation slides for the Backyard Composting Seminar to the committee for comments and approval. Slides were approved for presentation on February 9, 2023 at the library at 7:00 pm. o Mark will reach out to Darren Hamlin of Ridgewood DPW regarding pilot composting program in Ridgewood. He will also request Darren Hamlin, if some member of our committee could see their plastic compactor (densifier) in Ridgewood. • Trex Recycling Program: o We are 40 lbs away from getting the 3rd bench approved for plastic recycling. It was decided to order 3 “Stepping Stone Grey” color benches to be installed at various locations in the town. o Plastic Collection Bin at DPW needs a sign “Plastic Recycle” • T- shirts for Environmental Advisory Committee and Green Team. o Dave Zilkowski is waiting for PNG / Vector file of Town Seal. • Green Cleaning Products and Services: o Matthew Guilder is keeping track of the town’s purchases. 1|Page Meeting Minutes March 15, 2023 • Water Conservation ordinance o Mark will bring up the need for Water Conservation with town • Earthday will be observed by the Committee on April 22, 2023. Native flower seeds will be distributed this year. • Noise Conservation Ordinance o No update • Non-mandated recycling o No updates. NEW BUSINESS • Mark informed the committee that 2 EV charging station will be installed in the town. • No update was received about the request for 2 interns from Montclair State University under sustainable Jersey Program.
