Town of Wallburg, North Carolina Town Council Meeting - Wallburg Town Hall 8020 N. NC-Highway 109 Tuesday, February 14, 2017, 7:00pm 2ND TUESDAY OF THE MONTH MINUTES PROCEDURAL ITEMS CALL TO ORDER Mayor Allen Todd called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m. Present were the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem Zane Hedgecock, Council Members, Lynn Reece, Mark Swaim, and Councilwoman Cindy Johnson. Councilman Steve Yokeley was absent. The Town’s Attorney, Jay Wagner was present along with the Town Clerk, Donna Alwine. After an invocation by Mayor Pro Tem Hedgecock, Councilwoman Cindy Johnson led the pledge allegiance to the flag. MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF AGENDA Councilman Mark Swaim moved to approve the agenda. Councilwoman Cindy Johnson seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. With a 4 to 0 vote. MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF DRAFT MINUTES  January 10, 2017 - Regular Meeting Minutes MINUTES for the above meeting were unanimously approved on a motion by Mayor Pro Tem Hedgecock, seconded by Councilman Lynn Reece. With a 4 to 0 vote. PUBLIC SESSION There were no speakers BUSINESS TO BE DISCUSSED AND/OR ACTED UPON: 1. Councilman Mark Swaim gave an update on the Wall home repairs/renovation. The roofing project has been completed. As of now the home has had a new HVAC and roof with cost approximately at $30,000.00. This cost also includes some inside cleaning and the outdoor clean up. In the spring the council will be looking into getting quotes for outdoor painting, same aluminum window replacement and a thorough, detailed cleaning. Looking to have citizen input in the future and possible open house. COMMITTEE UPDATES AS AVAILABLE (COMMITTEE UPDATES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IF MEETING WAS NOT HELD OR UNATTENDED) 1. Finance Update Mark Swaim gave a brief update on the finances of the Town from the balance sheet ending January 31, 2017. CASH $ 2,397,156.50 Page 1 of 2  CAPITAL FUND $ 401,904.74 MONEY MARKET $ 248,916.11 TAXES RECEIVABLE $ 8,309.00 DUE FROM OTHER GOVTS. $ 125,390.00 TOTAL: $ 3,181,676.35 2. MPO – High Point Councilman Lynn Reece attended the MPO meeting that met on January 24, 2017. The 2017 Chair and Vice Chair were appointed. There was nothing in regards to the Town of Wallburg. 3. MPO - Winston-Salem Mayor Todd read over the agenda items that were discussed at the Winston Salem MPO meeting. Officers were elected for the year 2017. Nothing in regards to the Town of Wallburg was mentioned. OTHER INFORMATION: ADJOURNMENT: At 7:12P.M. Councilman Mark Swaim moved to adjourn the meeting, Councilwoman Cindy Johnson seconded.
