Town of Wallburg, North Carolina Town Council Meeting - Wallburg Town Hall 8020 N. NC-HIGHWAY 109 TUESDAY 7:00 P.M. December 8, 2020 2ND TUESDAY OF THE MONTH MINUTES PROCEDURAL ITEMS CALL TO ORDER Mayor Allen Todd called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Present were the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tempore Zane Hedgecock, Council Members, Mark Swaim, Lynn Reece, Steve Yokeley, and Cindy Johnson. The Town Attorney, Jay Wagner was present. After an invocation by Councilman Steve Yokeley, Councilman Cindy Johnson led the pledge of allegiance to the American flag. MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF AGENDA Mayor Pro Tempore Zane Hedgecock made a motion to approve the agenda as presented, Councilman Mark Swaim seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF DRAFT MINUTES  September 08, 2020 Regular Meeting Minutes MINUTES for the above meeting were unanimously approved on motion by Councilman Steve Yokeley seconded by Councilwoman Cindy Johnson. PUBLIC SESSION There were no speakers during the public comment period. BUSINESS TO BE DISCUSSED AND/OR ACTED UPON: 1. Upon motion by Councilman Mark Swaim, seconded by Councilman Steve Yokeley, the Council unanimously approved Resolution 20-009 setting regular meeting dates and times for the Wallburg Town Council. REGULAR MONTHLY AND COMMITTEE UPDATES AS AVAILABLE (COMMITTEE UPDATES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IF MEETING WAS NOT HELD OR UNATTENDED) 1. Finance Update – November 30, 2020 Mark Swaim gave a brief update on the finances of the Town: CASH $ 2,922,488.15 CAPITAL FUND-First National $ 658,465.43 MONEY MARKET-Capital Bank $ 249,468.75 TAXES RECEIVABLE $ 7,862.84 DUE FROM OTHER GOVTS. $ 156,924.30 TOTAL: $ 3,995,209.47 1 2. Wall Home Update – Councilwoman Cindy Johnson read an email from Marty Marion updating the Council on the progress of the bid process for the Wall Home. Contracts should be ready for approval by the Council in January. 3. Town Hall Park Construction – Councilman Mark Swaim provided an update. He said that the town has been having difficulty finding a builder for the park maintenance building due to demand in the building industry. 4. MPO – High Point – No report – not in attendance. 5. MPO – Winston Salem – Mayor Todd advised that the WSMPO did not meet. No report. OTHER INFORMATION: No other information.
