This notice has been revised to move the start time to 12:30pm pursuant to Council Rule 421(d)(1). The purpose of Bill 24-578 is to widen a portion of W Street, S.E., between Railroad Ave., S.E., and Shannon Place, S.E., and to establish a nonexclusive easement for the District on property located adjacent to Square 5784. The purpose of PR 24-733 is to remove a portion of 26th Street N.E. in Ward 5 from the Permanent System of Highways for the District of Columbia to facilitate the modernization and expansion of the Arboretum Recreation Center. The purpose of PR 24-994 is to close an unimproved portion of Moreland Street, N.W., adjacent to Squares 2307, 2308, and 2314, and revert the land to the adjoining property owners. The purpose of PR 24-995 is to close a 10-foot-wide portion of a public alley adjacent to lots 15, 16, and 17 in Square 4053 to allow for installation of a secure garage door for a private parking space. The purpose of Bill 24-1022 is to close portions of an existing public alley system in Squares 3841 and 3846, to close a 10-foot-wide portion of Franklin Street, N.E., between Reed Street, N.E., and 10th Street N.E., and to accept the dedication of property in Squares 3841 and 3846 for public street purposes; Bill 24-1022 will facilitate the development of a mixed-use residential development project. The purpose of Bill 24-1026 is to close a portion of Half Street, S.W., adjacent to Lot 12 in Square 660. The purpose of Bill 24-1102 is to close a portion of an alley in Square 2873, establish a 25-foot- wide building restriction line, and dedicate a portion of Lot 1112 for public street purposes. The purpose of Bill 24-1103 is to close a portion of an alley in Square 358. The purpose of Bill 24-892 is to symbolically designate the 700 Block of Quebec Place, N.W., in Ward 1, as Bishop Clarence Groover, Sr. Way. The purpose of Bill 24-1025 is to officially designate the 700 and 800 blocks of Mount Vernon Place, N.W. as Allen Y. Lew Place, N.W. The purpose of Bill 24-1032 is to symbolically designate the 1500 block of Channing Street, N.E. as Benjamin Secundy, Sr. Way. The purpose of Bill 24-1057 is to symbolically designate the 500 block of 55th Street, N.E. (adjacent to H.D. Woodson High School) as Woodson Way. The purpose of Bill 24-1058 is to symbolically designate the 1400 block of Cedar Street, S.E. as Davon T. McNeal, III Way. The purpose of Bill 24-1061 is to officially designate the public alley system within Square 3562, bounded by 3rd Street N.E., W Street, N.E., and V Street, N.E. as Wooten Court. The purpose of Bill 24-1062 is to symbolically designate 10th Place, S.E. between Savannah Street, S.E. and Mississippi Avenue, S.E. as Casandra S. Pinkney Way. The purpose of Bill 24-1087 is to symbolically designate the 300 block of 53rd Street, N.E. as Makiyah Wilson Way. The purpose of Bill 24-1090 is to symbolically designate Swann Street, N.W between 14th Street N.W. and 19th Street, N.W. as William Dorsey Swann Way. The purpose of Bill 24-1093 is to symbolically designate 18th Street, N.W. between M Street, N.W. and N Street, N.W. as Sam “The Man” Burns Way. The purpose of Bill 24-1101 is to symbolically designate 14th Street, N.W. between Allison Street, NW and Arkansas Avenue, N.W. as Xi Omega Way. Those who wish to testify must register at http://www.ChairmanMendelson.com/testify by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Testimony is limited to three minutes. Witnesses who anticipate needing spoken language interpretation, or require sign language interpretation, are requested to inform the Committee office of the need as soon as possible but no later than five business days before the proceeding. We will make every effort to fulfill timely requests, although alternatives may be offered. Requests received in less than five business days may not be fulfilled.
