Call To Order And Roll Call R Mayor Walters called the Watertown City Council work session to order at 5:37 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Councilmembers present: Mike Walters, Adam Pawelk, Kay Thul, Fred McGuire and Dan Schuette D Councilmembers absent: None City Staff present: City Administrator Jake Foster and Administrative Services Director Michael Sommerfeld 2. New Business 2.I. Elections Discussion City Administrator Jake Foster introduced the topic for discussion. Councilmember Fred McGuire has requested that we discuss election integrity and matters related to the election. He has gathered some information with the help of some others here in the audience. Councilmember McGuire provided a PowerPoint presentation with a concern for countywide election concerns that were brought up, including thoughts and concerns of county staff, ballot board, and commissioners. Councilmember McGuire also discussed equipment and ballot machine concerns that the county uses. Administrative Services Director Michael Sommerfeld spoke on his experience with working with those machines and that we are checking them throughout the day, checking the process and have never found an irregularity in the count that is on there. The machines are updated every election. They update them whenever the County's software version updates or whatever they are using, they are the same. Michael also informed Council on how the procedures and processes happen for Watertown and how the counts are sent to Carver County. 3. Adjournment Workshop was adjourned at 6:20 p.m.  same.
