VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE BOARD OF REVIEW MEETING 500 West Main Street June 1, 2016 - 5:00 PM Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER The 2016 Village of Waunakee Board of Review was called to order by Village Clerk Julee Helt at 5:01 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Al Dassow, Kevin Laffey, David Kennedy (arrived at 5:29 p.m.), Dan Statz, Joe Zitzelsberger, Julee Helt, Tom Wilson Absent: Robert Freimuth (alternate) Also Present: Dean Peters, Laurie Helt, Ryan Anderson, Christopher M. Kern PUBLIC COMMENT There was no comment from the public. Clerk Helt confirmed proper notice of Board of Review had been given and she presented the completed assessment roll to the members of the Board of Review. She also confirmed that she and Tom Wilson had attended Board of Training per statute. Dean Peters and Ryan Anderson, Village Assessors, stated Open Book had concluded, all reports had been filed with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, and the Assessor's Affidavit had been signed. Motion by Al Dassow, second by Tom Wilson, to appoint Kevin Laffey as chair. Motion Passed. For: 5, Against: 0, Absent: 2. Motion by Al Dassow, second by Kevin Laffey, to appoint Tom Wilson as vice-chair. Motion Passed. For: 5, Against: 0, Absent: 2. David Kennedy arrived at 5:29 p.m. NEW BUSINESS 1. Objection for Real Property Assessment - Christopher M. Kern, 102 Fourth Street Chris Kern, 102 Fourth Street, Waunakee, WI, was placed under oath at 5:58 p.m. and provided testimony in objection of the real property assessment for 102 Fourth Street, Waunakee. Assessors Ryan Anderson and Dean Peters were placed under oath and provided testimony in support of the real property assessment for 102 Fourth Street, Waunakee. The hearing to consider the objection of Chris Kern of the real property assessment for 102 Fourth Street, Waunakee, WI was concluded at 6:44 p.m. at which time deliberations began. Motion by Al Dassow, second by Joe Zitzelsberger, to sustain the assessor's value of $58,500 for land, $246,000 for improvements, totaling $304,500 for the property located at 102 Fourth Street, Waunakee, and owned by Christopher M. Kern. Motion Passed. For: 6 - Al Dassow, Kevin Laffey, David Kennedy, Joe Zitzelsberger, Julee Helt, Tom Wilson, Against: 0, Absent: 1.
