VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE PLAN COMMISSION MINUTES A regular meeting of the Waunakee Plan Commission was held Monday March 14, 2016, at the Waunakee Village Hall, 500 W. Main Street, Waunakee, WI. CALL TO ORDER Mr. Kraus called the meeting to order a 6:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Members Present: Chris Zellner, Steve Kraus, Gary Herzberg, Pat McGowan, Mark McGuire, Brad Zeman. Members Absent: Bill Pellino Also Present: Kevin Even, Tracy Meinholz, Ed Freer, Roberta Baumann, Pete Treinen, Kevin Ostman, Dan Miller, Kent Straus, Don Tierney. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion Kraus, second Herzberg, to approve the minutes from the January 11, 2016 meeting. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None NEW BUSINESS Initial Consultation Conditional Use Permit to Operate U-Haul Rental at 501 West Main Street After discussion of parking and location of the rental trucks and trailers on the site, members asked for copies of formal agreements for shared parking with adjacent properties and a parking diagram to accompany the formal application for the CUP. No action taken. Public Hearing & Discussion/Action on Ordinance Regulating Sail Signs/Banners The public hearing was opened at 6:34 p.m. Pete Treinen and Dan Miller voiced concerns with limiting a business’s ability to advertise. The public hearing was closed at 6:38 p.m. Motion Page 1 of 2 Herzberg, second McGowan, to recommend approval of the ordinance regulating sail signs/banners to the Village Board. Motion carried. Discussion/Recommendation on O’Malley Land Purchase for Parks and CORP Amendment, STH 19/Hellenbrand Road. Motion McGuire, second McGowan to recommend approval to the Village Board. County Highway Q Status Update Mr. Even gave an update and Mr. Zellner assured the members that they are working with the church and the developer on the best solution for all parties. No action necessary. Comprehensive Plan Update Mr. Even explained the process and invited members to attend any of the upcoming planning meetings. No action necessary. WAUNAKEE / WESTPORT JOINT PLAN COMMISSION REPORT / ITEMS FOR ACTION 1. Initial Consultation on Site Plan for Lot Adjacent to Trader Gus Shell No action taken. 2. Discuss and Take Action on Amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement Regarding Police Services with the Town of Westport Already discussed earlier on the agenda. 3. Discussion/Action on Request by Waunakee Police Department for Annexation of ROW for CTH Q and Woodland Drive No action taken. 4. Discussion/Recommendation on O’Malley Land Purchase for Parks and CORP Amendment, STH19/Hellenbrand Road Already discussed earlier on the agenda. 5. Comprehensive Plan Update No action taken.
