VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE 500 W. Main Street September 5, 2024, 5:30 PM Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Frye called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Present: Nila Frye, Sam Kaufmann, Erin Moran, Ron Plumer, Brian Wallace, Max Ujdak, Absent: Brian Wallace, Mark Snider Also Present: Bill Frederick, Aaron Jahncke, Tracy Meinholz, Ryan Endres, Cody Esposito, Jodi Barnet. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Kaufman, second by Plumer, to approve the August 8, 2024, minutes as presented. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: Jodi Barnet spoke with concerns about students crossing at the uncontrolled intersection of South Street and Kingston Way. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Discussion/Recommendation on the Five-Year Public Works Improvement Plan The Public Works Improvement Plan has been updated to show 2025-2029. The new PWI plan adds trail improvements and alley improvements in the upcoming years. The budget for 2025 is $2,400,000 and for 2026 $2,400,000. We will be designing both Fish and 3rd St. this fall. The Village received $32,320 LRIP grant funding for Dover and a $280,000 MSIS grant for S. Division St. Motion Frye seconded by Plumer, to recommend approval of the Five-Year Public Works Improvement plan to the Village Board. Motion carried 5-0. 1|Page 2. Discuss and Take Action on Strand Task Order 24-06 Staff are seeking approval of the Strand Task Order to begin the design and planning of Fish and Third Streets. Our road reconstruction plan for 2025 and 2026 includes these streets. Motion Frye, seconded by Ujdak to recommend Village Board approval of Strand Task Order No. 24-06 for the design work on Fish and Third Streets, and the bidding of Fish Street for 2025. Motion carried 5-0. ADJOURN Motion by Plumer, second Frye, to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
