John Roessler called the regular meeting of the Waunakee Utilities Commission to order.

There was no public comment.
Minutes
A motion was made by Chris Zellner and seconded by Steve Kraus to approve the minutes of the August 26,
2024 Utilities Commission meeting. Motion carried.

Motion carried.
Engineering Proposals for Well 6 and Elevated Water Storage Tank Project
Mike Forslund presented three engineering Task Orders for the project to construct the new well and storage
facility. The Task Orders include all engineering efforts for the project, including design, bidding, construction,
and other related services, and total $609,000.
After a discussion, a motion was made by John Roessler and seconded by Chris Zellner to approve the Task
Orders. Motion carried.

Electric Department Staffing Changes
The General Manager discussed several proposed staffing and wage changes for the Electric Department.
After a discussion, a motion was made by John Roessler and seconded by Chris Zellner to create a new Electric
Operations Manager position to be filled by Sam Trace at the salary discussed, increase the Lead Line Worker
wage to the amount discussed, and promote Zach Fenner to that position. Motion carried.
The Commission also discussed a proposed Substation and Meter Technician position. Additional information
about creating this new position will be discussed at a future meeting.
Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Interceptor Project
The Commission was provided an update on the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District project to increase
capacity to the area.
Village-Wide Construction Projects
No projects were discussed this month.
Operations Report
The Commission was provided an update on various operational matters.
Update on Well 6 and Elevated Water Storage Tank Project
The Commission was provided an update on the project. This will be a recurring meeting topic until the project
is completed.
General Manager’s Report
The General Manager discussed a recent disturbance with a customer in the office lobby, the bids to line certain
sections of sewer main, recent increases in water usage by an industrial customer, and re-election to the WPPI
Executive Committee.
Financial Statements
The August financial statements were discussed.
A motion was made by Chris Zellner and seconded by Steve Kraus to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
