VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE SPECIAL BOARD MEETING **Virtual Meeting via Zoom Webinar*** June 25, 2020 6:30 PM Agendas may change prior to the commencement of the meeting. CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS This Village of Waunakee Village Board Meeting will be held as a live virtual meeting due to Dane County Public Health Order. The public can participate in one of three ways:  PREFERRED METHOD: Participate on-line in Zoom webinar by using the link to join: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81811199161. In addition to the public, all Board members and staff will also be participating remotely. An explanation on how the meeting will be conducted will occur promptly at 6:00 PM. PUBLIC SPEAKING INSTRUCTIONS  WRITTEN COMMENTS: You can send comments to the Village Board on any matter, either on or not on the agenda, by emailing cstene@waunakee.com or in writing to Village Board, 500 W Main St., Waunakee, WI, 53597.  FOR PUBLIC HEARING: Those wishing to speak during a public hearing item and are participating using the zoom system will be instructed to “raise hand” to speak. Those joining the meeting via telephone and wish to speak during the public hearing will be instructed to press *9 to “raise hand” to speak.  FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS, REGISTER BUT DO NOT SPEAK: You can register your support or opposition for a public hearing item without speaking by emailing your name, address, and support/opposition to cstene@waunakee.com or calling (608)850-2827.  AGENDA CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL CONFIRMATION OF OPEN MEETING COMPLIANCE (Public postings, official notices, and online availability) PUBLIC HEARING* 1 Public Hearing and Discussion on Racism, Tolerance and Equality in the Waunakee Community. ADJOURN *As permitted by the Wisconsin open meetings law, the Village Board may choose to list a public comment period on Board meeting agendas to afford an opportunity for valued public comments. This is specifically listed on the agenda as PUBLIC COMMENT, during which citizens may share comments with the Board on items that do not appear on the agenda. The Village Board may not engage in back-and-forth discussion or take formal action during this period, as the subject items are not specifically listed. The Board may consider deferring the subject to a later meeting when specific notice can be given. Note: In general, Wisconsin law grants citizens the right to attend and observe open session meetings of the Village Board, but does not require allowing the public to speak or actively participate. The Village Board may determine if citizen participation will be allowed and to what extent. State statute and/or Village Code requires the Village Board to hold PUBLIC HEARINGS on certain specified matters where the public can comment on the particular subject. The meeting chairperson will identify rules for providing comments. Other items on the agenda which are not listed for public hearing do not require the Board to allow public comment, however the meeting chairperson can at his/her own discretion allow limited public comments. Any person who has a qualifying disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act that requires the meeting or materials at the meeting to be in an accessible location or format should contact the municipal clerk at (608) 850-8500, 500 West Main Street, Waunakee, Wisconsin, at least twenty-four hours prior to the commencement of the meeting so that any necessary arrangements can be made to accommodate each request.
