WaunaBoom July Recap Meeting Agenda 7/16/25 Wednesday 6 P.M. Lone Girl Brewing Members: Connie Gavinski, Chris Zellner, Amie Zellner, Julie Zellner, Michelle Johnson, Stacey Ryan, Jade Hofeldt, Alex Schmalz, Courtney Morehart, Cindy Kobza, Ellen Schaaf, Trudi Leder, Jen Schmalz, Kristin Runge Call to Order – 6:04pm 1. Roll Call 2. Public Comments – no public present 3. Minutes review – committee approved 6/24 meeting minutes 4. 2025 Event Review a. Set Up i. Lots of help this year, went fast and smooth ii. Anticipated Soccer Team help in 2026. b. Cleaners i. Huge help for set-up and clean up. ii. Ask to return in 2026 iii. Inquire about during event clean up c. Garbage i. Continues to be a challenge ii. Committee agreed to purchase of 50 more plastic containers to eliminate cardboard boxes d. Blackhawk/Flyover i. Reviewed Blackhawk and Flyover schedule and engagement ii. Discussed potential need for volunteer shift for duration of Blackhawk e. Children’s Activities i. Committee reviewed vendors, popularity, and lines from the event ii. Train was not popular f. Marketing/Website i. A. Schmalz to connect with US News and World Report again before 2026 event ii. New website was great iii. Condensed event signage much better g. Bands i. Select new day-time band for 2026 h. Food Court i. Committee agreed to allow vendors to sell drinks again 2026  ii. Discussed potential solutions for vendors needing park vehicle access throughout the event iii. Additional conversation needed on ATM placement or need for outdoor specific machines i. Beer Tent i. E. Schaaf reported on success of beer tent at the event, very busy, closest to running out ever j. Buses i. Potential need for an additional bus at ending ii. Issues with bus loading and routes, A. Zellner to work with bussing company on process. k. Misc. i. Port-o-potty hand washers ran out of water, need solution for 2026. Some comments regarding need for lights. ii. Shuttle - one shuttle wasn’t working, not heavily used at end of event, reminder signage that shuttles are not allowed on roads 5. 2026 planning for 10th year and Country 250 year a. Fireworks i. Committee discussed anticipated increase in firework costs ii. Committee unanimously agreed to firework budget increase to $45,000 b. Safety i. Committee discussed options for increase to security and park communications/announcement during the event ii. Committee to look into options for more speakers, blowhorns, and electric message boards iii. Committee reviewed EMS calls, C. Zellner to get police update 6. Calendar scheduling a. Next meeting TBD – October/November 2025 7. Adjourn – 9:30pm
