Waunakee Area Fire District 401 West Second Street Waunakee, WI 53597-0472 July 2024 Fire District Meeting Minutes July 29, 2024 The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Waunakee Area Fire District was called to order by Vice-Chairperson Nila Frye. Roll call showed in attendance: John Cuccia, Nila Frye, Gary Endres, Matt Wright, Robert McPherson, Chief Gary Hansen, Deputy Chief Ryan Schwab, and Batt. Chief Brian Adler. Compliance with Open Meeting Laws: Chairperson Cuccia asked if we were compliant with Open Meeting Laws, and it was determined that we were. Public Comment: None Meeting Minutes: A motion was made by Nila Frye and a second was made by Gary Endres to approve the June 2024 Meeting Minutes. Motion carried. Bills: A motion was made by Gary Endres and a second was made by Matt Wright to approve the June 2024 bills. Motion carried. Old Business: 1. Fire Department Study – Nila Frye informed the board that the FD Study will be presented at the August 19th meeting of the Waunakee Village Board. The Village Board will discuss and take possible action at their September 16th meeting. The township members of the Fire District Board asked if they were going to get an opportunity to see the report before it is presented to the public. New Business: 1. Joint Fire & EMS Calls – Robert McPherson shared a document that showed how many times the EMS has had the fire department paged for assistance in the first half of the year. Chief Hansen informed the board that the FD is working with Scott Russell to lessen the number of these calls. Other Business: No other business. Fire Inspector’s Report: Battalion Chief/Inspector Adler shared the June 2024 fire run report. Next Meeting: August 26, 2024 Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Gary Endres and a second was made by Robert McPherson. Motion carried.
