EMS Commission Meeting Minutes Meeting Date: August 8, 2024 The Meeting was Called to order by Chair Dean Grosskopf at 7:01 pm. Public / Membership Appearances  None Review / Approve Minutes  The minutes of the regular July 2024 EMS Commission Meeting were reviewed. A motion to approve the July 2024 EMS Commission Meeting Minutes was made by Schmidt, second by Meinholz. Motion carried 5/0. Review / Approve Expenditure Statements  The expenditure statement for July 2024 was reviewed. A motion to approve the July 2024 Expenditures as presented was made by Meinholz, second by Haag. Motion carried 5/0. Chief’s Report We extended offers to One part-time paramedic and two volunteers. They will all be doing their onboarding this month, along with the part-time paramedic we brought on last month. Finally, all the ambulances are back and working well. We are going to have the state inspections next week on the two that were gone earlier last month. We still have to get M24’s body work done from the storm incident, but I am just starting to get quotes for that now. This is the program that will see us be able to submit all of our Medicaid calls for additional reimbursement every year. We are still waiting for final federal approval but have all the data ready to go for when it is approved. It is still slated to be backdated to include 2023. The new Kelly Day schedule has been finalized. The new “D Shift” opening has been posted for any internal individuals that are interested in moving shifts. This move will be based on seniority. For the first year, whoever moves to the “D Shift” will be required to fill in eight (8) additional shifts throughout the year, which will be picked from already approved leave time. The official start date of this new schedule is February 10, 2025. The only thing left to do to prepare for this change is switch the pay period from Sunday-Saturday to Monday-Sunday. I am working with iSolved to make this happen towards the end of the year. No real news on this one yet. As of now, I am working off the assumption that we are not regulated by OSHA in WI being a government entity. I met with the WPF doing the study last week. They were going to meet with Steve from Middleton this week. Sometime in the next week or two we are slated to meet together with them, then the full brunt of the study should get started shortly after that. Onboarding is going well. We will be getting the hardware installed on Wednesday. All of the background stuff is set and ready to go. Barring any major hiccups, we should be fully live with them by the end of next week. Old Business  Discussion was had regarding the Town of Springfield EMS Borders and where response times may be able to be improved. No action was taken. New Business  The preliminary draft budget for 2025 was presented. Short discussion had. Will be discussed further at September meeting. No Action was taken. Miscellaneous Business / Forthcoming Events  None Next EMS Commission Meeting is scheduled for September 12, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the EMS Station.
