MINUTES FROM THE
CITY OF WAUTOMA
MEETING OF THE REGULAR COMMON COUNCIL
MONDAY, APRIL 11th, 2022
7:30 p.m.
Mayor Nixon called the regular meeting of the City of Wautoma Common
Council to order at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11th, 2022.
Present: Mayor John Nixon, Alderpersons Pat King, Steve Ryerson, Eric Tratar
and Ryan Petersen
Excused: Alderperson Grimm and Cayer
Prayer and Pledge took place.
Alderperson Ryerson moved to approve the minutes from the Regular Common
Council meeting held on March 14th, 2022, and Finance and Personnel committee held on
March 14th, 2022. The motion was seconded by Alderperson Tratar and carried 4-0.
Mr. Bohler presented both the General Fund Budget Comparison and bank
account report.
Alderperson Ryerson motioned to approve the agenda which was seconded by
Alderperson Tratar and carried 4-0.
Mayor Nixon opened the public hearing regarding CDBG activities on Waupaca
Street. Jennifer Trader from MSA Engineers was present at the hearing and gave an
overview of the project and grant. No residents requested to speak, and the public hearing
was closed.
Alderperson King motioned to approve Picnic Licenses for the Wautoma Area
Chamber of Commerce, Operator’s Licenses for Denise Baumann (WACC) and a “Class
A” Liquor License for The Nest @ 217 West, LLC. The motion was seconded by
Alderperson Ryerson and carried 4-0.
Alderperson King motioned to approve Ordinance #2022-01 to amend Code of
Ordinances with the intent of providing authority for fire inspections to be completed as
directed under Wisconsin Statutes, to enhance the health, safety, and good order of the
community, and to provide authority to enforce violation of fire regulations in the City of
Wautoma. The motion was seconded by Alderperson Tratar and carried 4-0.
Alderperson Ryerson motioned to approve Resolution #2022-01 - Resolution
Providing A Guarantee Of Matching Funds For The CDBG-PF Application. The motion
was seconded by Alderperson Petersen and carried 4-0.
Alderperson Tratar motioned to approve Resolution #2022-02 - Authorizing
Resolution For The Submission Of A Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Application. The motion was seconded by Alderperson King and carried 4-0.
Mr. Bohler presented his report to the council.
Chief Paul Mott presented his report to the council.
Mayor Nixon presented his report to the council.
Alderperson Petersen moved to approve the payment of monthly vouchers. The
motion was seconded by Alderperson Tratar and carried 4-0.
Chad Grundemann was present via phone to give the MSA Engineers update on
projects.
Alderperson Petersen motioned to approve MSA Engineers service agreement to
complete the CDBG grant application for Waupaca Street. The motion was seconded by
Alderperson Ryerson and carried 4-0.
Chad Grundemann gave an update on the 16th avenue grant award.
Alderperson Ryerson motioned to allow extension of noise ordinance from
10:00pm to 11:00pm at the Waushara County Fairgrounds on July 8th and 9th, 2022 for
the cultural celebration and awareness event, “A Taste of Mexico”. The motion was
seconded by Alderperson Tratar and carried 4-0.
Alderperson Petersen motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Alderperson
Ryerson and carried 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.

Park (6/9, 6/23, 7/7, 7/21, 8/11 and 8/25), and for the Wautoma Area Chamber of
Commerce Freedom Fest on July 2nd, 2022
b. Operators Licenses for Denise Baumann (Wautoma Area Chamber of Commerce)
c. “Class A” Liquor License (bottled wine) for The Nest @ 217 West, LLC.

e. Worked with legal counsel to prepare updated ordinance regarding the Wautoma Area
Fire District
