Staff updates regarding current legislative items of interest to the City of 23-975 Wauwatosa Atty Kesner presented the following: 1. Joint Finance Committee hearing at Waukesha Expo Center on April 5. (First day of Passover). No other JFC hearings will be held in Southeast Wisconsin. 2. May 23 “Local Government Day” in Madison sponsored by the League of WI Municipalities . Council President will be participating. Others are invited. 3. Staff and Mayor have in the past month met (in person) with the four assembly members representing the City as well as our State Senator Rob Hutton. Primarily discussed the coming fiscal crisis for local governments and a few other issues. All representatives have been receptive to our concerns . 4. General discussion of legislation, including bills to eliminate personal property tax and addressing reckless driving.
