Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Action Summary - Final March 28, 2016
I CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Mr. DeLaney asked if the Discussion of the Land and Water Conservation grant
and the Parks and Recreation Fee Schedule Items could be moved to the
beginning of the meeting. The Board agreed and the agenda was approved as
amended.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
PR15-027 Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes - 3-7-16
The minutes from the March 7, 2016 meeting were approved unanimously.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
PR15-028 Discussion of Land and Water Conservation Grant Program for
Dorchester Park
Mr. DeLaney explained that the Village was seeking $200,000 in grand funding
from the Land and Water Conservation Fund for a project in Dorchester Park
and asked for consensus from the Board to proceed. The Board unanimouslyl
agreed that it was a good idea to seek the grant funds.
PR15-029 Parks & Recreation Fee Schedule
Mr. DeLaney explained that a new fee schedule had been prepared for Parks
and Recreation facilities in anticipation of the opening of the new Community
Center. He noted that the fee schedule had previously been provided to the
Board.
A motion was made by Mr. Christmas, seconded by Mr. Pignato, and
unanimously passed to approve moving forward with the fees.

VI. OLD BUSINESS
PR15-030 Tennis Selection Committee Presentations
The four finalists that were selected at the previous Selection Committee
meeting were invited back to give a presentation. Each respondent was given
20 minutes for their presentation with 10 additional minutes for questions from
the committee for a total of 30 minutes.
The order for the presentations was drawn at the previous meeting and were
given as follows: (1) Cheatham Inc.; (2) Tennis Exclusive; (3) Jeff Bingo and

(4) Plantation Pro Shop.
At the conclusion of the presentations, the Selection Committee asked to take
a few minutes to collect their thoughts. The meeting was then opened to the
public so the Committee could have open an discussion. The Committee then
recorded their scores and they were collected. Mr. De La Vega and Mr. Barnes
read the scores and tallied the results. The final rankings were (1) Jeff Bingo;
(2) Plantation Pro Shop; (3) Cheatham Inc. and (4) Tennis Exclusive.
A motion was made by Mr. Fleming, seconded by Mr. Pignato, and
unanimously passed, to recommend the Village Council award the Tennis
Management contract to Jeff Bingo based on the results of the Selection
Committee.
