II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Dr. Falzone led the Pledge of Allegience. III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved as presented 7-0. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes were approved 7-0. PR-068 Approval of Minutes 9-13-18 V. PRESENTATION VI. STAFF UPDATES PR-069 Staff Updates Mr. Juckett gave an update on upcoming events including the Holiday Parade as well as the events of December 15th. He also mentioned Father Daughter Tickets are on sale now. VII. OLD BUSINESS VIII. NEW BUSINESS PR-070 Approval to Seek Re-accreditation Mr. Juckett explained that the department was seeking approval to pursue reaccreditation through the CAPRA program. Dr. Falzone asked for an explanation so everyone could understand the importance of the process. Mr. Juckett explained that this would be the third time going through the process and the second re-accreditation. The department must show evidence of compliance to several standards and re-accreditation is every five years. Village of Wellington Page 1 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Action Summary December 3, 2018 Mr. Forgione made a motion to approve the reaccreditation process and Mr. Bueno offered the second. The motion was passed 7-0. IX. PUBLIC COMMENT X. BOARD COMMENTS Members of the board offered good luck to Mr. Juckett. Dr. Falzone explained that the board was here for him and the department. Ms. Shockley mentioned that she had gone on a bike ride recently and noticed how nice Foresteria Park looks. Mr. Bueno complimented the staff on great parks and programs. Mr. Coleman also mentioned that he was encouraged by all of the activities and programs offered. Mr. Forgione welcomed Mr. Juckett and complimented the department and the Village for doing such a great job and for how beautiful everything looks. Dr. Falzone mentioned the Wellington Shootout and that it has grown this year and invited the board to attend. XI. CLOSING COMMENT XII. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:14pm.
