II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Dr. Falzone. III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved 4-0. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES PR-071 Approval of Minutes from 12-3-18 The minutes were approved 4-0. V. PRESENTATION PR-073 Parks Master Plan Updates Mr. Juckett explained that the Village Council had approved a contract with AECOM to act as a consultant to complete a Parks Master Plan. Mr. Barnes explained that it was the first time the Village will be doing a full system wide plan. The process would include citizen input as well as involvement with the PRAB. VI. STAFF UPDATES PR-074 Staff Updates Mr. Juckett updated the board on some upcoming and recent events including hosting part of the soccer state games series at Village Park. He also commented that the recent MarchtoberFest and Craft Beer events had gone well. Ms. Shockley asked if there were parking issues. Mr. Juckett and Mr. Barnes explained that the shuttle service had worked well. VII. OLD BUSINESS PR-072 Surtax Updates Mr. Barnes reviewed the latest financial report for surtax programs. He explained that the project previously scheduled for the Greenbriar site had been proposed to move to the Wellington High School site. Dr. Falzone asked if the new project including artificial turf added substantial cost. Mr. Barnes explained that the increase for turf wasn't substantial and there would also be Village of Wellington Page 1 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Action Summary March 4, 2019 infrastructure savings. Mr. Barnes also added that there is a potential aquatic center added to the project at a later date. Mr. Forgione made a motion to approve the projects as in line with the surtax program and Ms. Shockley gave the second. The motion was approved 4-0. VIII. NEW BUSINESS IX. PUBLIC COMMENT X. BOARD COMMENTS Mr. Forgione complimented the staff on the handling of the increased population and activity associated with the equestrian season. Ms. Shockley mentioned she had been to the preserve and thought it was a beautiful facility. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35pm. XI. CLOSING COMMENT XII.
