I. CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Chris Gillette opened the meeting at 2:00 p.m.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Observed.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Dr. Charles Sandell, seconded by Ms. Linda Haunert,
and was unanimously passed by the Board, approving the Minutes of the June
3, 2015 Tree Board Meeting.
IV. STAFF REPORTS
Brian Hopper updated the Tree Board on recent plantings and projects and
advised the Board that he has ordered the seedlings for next year's Earth/Arbor
Day event.
V. OLD BUSINESS
VI. NEW BUSINESS
Mayor Bob Margolis presented the "Recognition for the Protection of the
Pollinators." Photos were taken with the members of the Wellington Garden
Club and Stormi Bivin and Kay Brown of the Tree Board.
Brain Hopper advised the Tree Board that he had spoken to the FPL
Supervisor about the complaints regarding tree trimming along Aero Club
Drive. FPL Supervisor was very cooperative and trimming was temporarily
stopped and he would make sure crews were aware of proper trimming
procedures.
A motion was made by Ms. Debbie Evans, seconded by Ms. Kay Brown and
was unanimously passed by the Board to submit the FLOWER Award
nominations each December. FLOWER Awards are presented annually at the
Earth/Arbor Day event in April.

VII. COMMENTS
Mr. Chris Gillette visited the North Carolina Arboretum and highly
recommended it. Ms. Debbie Evans asked if the Tree Care Tips brochure is
also sent to residents that receive their bill electronically. Mr. Brian Hopper
advised that they receive a link to the brochure.
Ms. Debbie Evans asked how many citations are given out for improper tree
pruning and removal. Mr. Brian Hopper stated that he would email her Steve
Koch’s email address so she could request that information.
VIII. ADJOURN
A motion was made by Ms. Stormi Bivin to adjourn the Tree Board meeting,
seconded by Dr. Charles Sandell, motion carried unanimously.
