REGULAR MEETING
A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Devine at 3:00 p.m.

C. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
1. 19-0830 Discussion regarding an update on the contract status, potential locations and overall
timeline for the 2020 Mural Project
Stacey Williams-Ng from Wallpapered City LLC suggested that in order to finalize the call
for artists, a couple of conference calls with the City, would be needed in January.
Stacey confirmed with the committee that she leads the process to pick the locations as
well as designs the templates for the contracts. Below is additional information that she
shared with the committee.
Artists Jury
Generally 7-9 people. Should include a few West Allis citizens, perhaps an Alderperson.
Stacey suggested Mayor Devine or Alderperson Weigel. Also should include someone
from Wallpapered City such as Stacey or Antoine Carter.
Contract
Work for Hire Agreement between the City and Artist. Need to ask the building owner for
permission to put art on their building. Usually agree to 3 years on average.
In late July, an event should be held to tie in the mural project.
A Communication needs to be sent to the Common Council informing them about this
program.
2. 19-0831 Discussion regarding updating the status of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Asphalt Art
Initiative Grant –West Allis’s Street Mural at the Market application submitted

Katie Bennett updated the committee that the grant application had been submitted on
behalf of the City, for a street mural to be located on the pavement of Six Points
Crossing/S. 66 St. Ms. Bennett also mentioned that a push needs to be made to the
Communications Department to get the word out to businesses regarding City Bike
Racks being available for purchase.

3. 19-0832 Discussion regarding an update on the Library Book Bench project
The Library Board has taken over the project and is looking at ordering 2 additional
benches and working on picking a theme or themes.
4. 19-0833 Discussion relating to Miscellaneous Artscape Projects and Opportunities
Mr. Stibal suggested consideration of a mural at the Health Department on the east
elevation wall. A lot would depend on the cost as well as the age of the building.
D. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Ms. Grill, seconded by Mr. Stibal to adjourn the meeting at 3:55
p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
