REGULAR MEETING
A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair at 4:00 p.m.
B. ROLL CALL

Nazer, and Mr. John Noll

C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. 18-00014 Minutes (draft) December 13, 2017
A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Gracyalny, that the minutes be approved with
two minor edits. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 6- Mayor Devine, Ms. Hart, Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Mr. Nazer, and Mr. Noll

D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS
2. 18-00016 Financial Report - Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer.
Mr. Gracyalny reported a total of $4,817.46 in the budget as of December 31,
2017.
A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Nazer, that this matter was Approved. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 6- Mayor Devine, Ms. Hart, Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Mr. Nazer, and Mr. Noll

E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
3. 18-00019 Report from the West Allis Historical Society.
Mr. Gracyalny reported that Eileen Clines, a West Allis Historical Society Board
Member has resigned. He also noted that Ed Wilkomen passed away. There are
now two openings on the Board of Directors. Mr. Gracyalny asked the committee
members to spread the word about these openings.

A. Log Schoolhouse
Discussion took place on tasks that needed to be completed at the Log
Schoolhouse.
B. Seneca Station
Mr. Gracyalny shared compliments he had heard on the Seneca Station.
C. Settlers Weekend
Mr. Gracyalny mentioned that we are now over halfway to the $3,000 fundraising
goal for the 2018 Settlers Weekend.
D. Historic Preservation Grant
Discussion ensued that there is no flag on the flagpole at the former high school
property on the north east corner of 76th & National. Bob Baierl with Supreme
Builders owns the property. It was discussed if he should be contacted to see if a
flag can be put on the flagpole, or is there an issue with the flagpole itself and is
there anything the Historical Commission could do to help.
E. Social Media Updates
The Historical Society website and facebook are in the process of being updated.
5. 18-00021 Log Cabin Rededication - 20 Years.
Mr. Gracyalny would like to hold a subcommittee meeting on Wednesday, May
16th at 5:30 p.m. Check your calendars.
Mr. Gracyalny also asked that members get Jenny Kosek pictures of
reconstruction so she could include them in the newsletter.
F. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Barb Hart, seconded by John Noll to adjourn the meeting
at 4:35 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.

All meetings of the Historical Commission are public meetings. In order for the general public to make comments at the committee meetings, the individual(s) must
