City of West Allis Meeting Minutes Historical Commission Wednesday, September 12, 2018 4:00 PM City Hall, Room 128 7525 W. Greenfield Ave. REGULAR MEETING A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gracyalny at 4:00 p.m. B. ROLL CALL Present 6- Ms. Sarah Fonaas, Mr. Devan Gracyalny, Ms. Barbara Hart, Mr. Ray Nazer, Mr. John Noll, and Ms. Patricia Wolfe Excused 1- Mayor Dan Devine Others Attending Shaun Mueller, Community & Economic Development Coordinator C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. 18-00492 Minutes (draft) August 8, 2018 Attachments: 8-8-18 Minutes (draft) Note: Minutes of the 8-8-18 meeting, Item 5E, were changed to reflect the West Allis Historical Society. A motion was made by Ms. Wolfe, seconded by Mr. Nazer, that the minutes of the August 8, 2018 meeting be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, Mr. Noll, and Ms. Wolfe No: 0 D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 2. 18-00493 Financial Report - Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer Mr. Gracyalny reported that as of September 12, 2018, the balance on hand is $4,738.56. There is still an outstanding bill of $850.00 for the cost of the Settler’s Weekend programs which will be reflected in next months balance. A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Ms. Fonaas, that the Financial report be approved. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION 3. 18-00494 Report from the West Allis Historical Society It was reported that over 100 teachers toured the Historical Society on a WA-WM School District teacher in-service day. 4. 18-00495 Status Reports - Historical Commission Projects and Activities A. Log Schoolhouse Wilson Grade School is interested in a Log Schoolhouse classroom visit. Public Works would be available to get the log school ready. Don Faulk or Jeannette Bell will be asked to be the docent. B. Seneca Station Nothing to Report. C. Settlers Weekend The wrap-up meeting for Settlers Weekend has not yet taken place. The committee is hopeful for an October 8th meeting date. Barb Hart presented a summary to the Commission. D. Historic Preservation Grant On September 28, 2018, a Letter of Intent is due for the Historic Preservation Grant. E. Social Media Updates Nothing to Report. F. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Nazer to adjourn the meeting at 4:35 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
