REGULAR MEETING
A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Devan Gracyalny at 4:00 p.m.
B. ROLL CALL
Present 6- Ms. Sarah Fonaas, Mr. Devan Gracyalny, Ms. Barbara Hart, Mr. Ray Nazer, Mr. John Noll,
and Ms. Patricia Wolfe

C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. 18-00573 Minutes (draft) September 12, 2018

A motion was made by Ms. Wolfe, seconded by Ms. Hart, that the minutes of the September 12,
2018 meeting be approved.. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 6- Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, Mr. Noll, and Ms. Wolfe

D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS
2. 18-00574 Financial Report - Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer
Mr. Gracyalny reported that as of October 10, 2018, the balance on hand is
$3,990.70. All of the 2018 Settler's Weekend payments have been made.
A motion was made by Ms. Fonaas, seconded by Mr. Nazer, that the Financial Report be
approved. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 6- Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, Mr. Noll, and Ms. Wolfe

E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
3. 18-00575 Report from the West Allis Historical Society
It was reported that there is an increase in the number of visitors touring the
Historical Society. IT & Public Works are helping with alarms and telephone
service. The annual Historical Society banquet will be held on Monday, October
15th at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Devan Gracyalny will be making a

presentation on the Days of the Dough Boys.
An old phone booth may be given to the Historical Society.
The president of Chr. Hansen will be talking to the Retiree Group on Thursday,
October 11th at 9:30 a.m., for those who may be interested.
4. 18-00576 Status Reports - Historical Commission Projects and Activities
A. Log Schoolhouse
The Log Schoolhouse will remain open until the end of October. It will reopen for
the Christmas Open House in December.
B. Seneca Station
Nothing to Report.
C. Settlers Weekend
A subcommittee meeting will be held on Monday, October 22nd.
D. Historic Preservation Grant
A Letter of Intent has been submitted for Mitchell Manor...
E. Social Media Updates
400 Visitors have already visited the new website.
For Historic Preservation Month, the Farmers Market will be featured celebrating
100 years. Discussion ensued about signage at the Market for this event. Other
ideas were multi generational farmers and custom signs showing the years and
generations at the market.
F. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Mr. Nazer,
seconded by Mr. Gracyalny to adjourn the meeting at 4:35 p.m. The motion
carried unanimously.
