CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mayor Devine at 4:04 p.m. B. ROLL CALL Present 7- Mayor Dan Devine, Ms. Sarah Fonaas, Mr. Devan Gracyalny, Ms. Barbara Hart, Mr. Ray Nazer, Mr. John Noll, and Ms. Patricia Wolfe Others Attending Shaun Mueller, Community & Economic Development Coordinator Jenny Kosek, Communications Strategist C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. 19-0138 February 13, 2019 (draft) Minutes A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Ms. Wolfe, that the minutes of the February 13, 2019 meeting be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7- Mayor Devine, Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, Mr. Noll, and Ms. Wolfe No: 0 D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 2. 19-0139 Financial Report - Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer Mr. Gracyalny reported that as of March 13, 2019, the balance on hand is $5,162.00. Another $1,000.00 donation is still expected from the Knights of Columbus. A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Nazer, that the Financial Report be approved.. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7- Mayor Devine, Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, Mr. Noll, and Ms. Wolfe No: 0 E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION 3. 19-0140 Report from the West Allis Historical Society Mr. Gracyalny suggested that Sunday, June 30th would be a good date for the Open House. It was the date that the West Allis Historical Society pulled their charter. Discussion ensued regarding reenactors, silent auction, and women's club. This event would replace Settler's Weekend. An article regarding this event needs to be in by the end of the week to have it published in the next Historical Buzz Newsletter, City of West Allis Page 1 Printed on 4/18/2019 Historical Commission Meeting Minutes March 13, 2019 4. 19-0141 Status Reports - Historical Commission Projects and Activities A. Log Schoolhouse The Log Schoolhouse will open the beginning of May. A local school has already called about a tour, and will be in contact with Mr. Mueller. B. Seneca Station Nothing to report. C. Settlers Weekend A motion was made by Mr. Gracyalny, seconded by Ray Nazer to not hold Settler's Weekend this year, and consider bringing it back in the following year. The motion carried unanimously. Discussion ensued regarding considering local food trucks and beer vendors, bounce houses etc. Possible set up on Saturday, June 29, 2019 with the event being held on Sunday, June 30th. This would eliminate the May Open House. D. Social Media Updates Ms. Kosek reported that 1,300 website visits have occurred since October. On average, the length of visit was 1 minute and 13 seconds. 5. 19-0142 Discussion regarding proposed changes to the Historic Preservation Ordinance in regards to requiring owner’s consent for local designation. Mr. Mueller tabled this discussion until the next meeting. 6. 19-0143 Discussion regarding May Historic Preservation Month activity. It was suggested that this date be changed to the June 30th event. F.
