City of West Allis Meeting Minutes Historical Commission Wednesday, May 8, 2019 4:01 PM City Hall, Room 128 7525 W. Greenfield Ave. REGULAR MEETING A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mayor Devine at 4:01 p.m. B. ROLL CALL Present 4- Mayor Dan Devine, Ms. Sarah Fonaas, Ms. Barbara Hart, and Mr. John Noll Excused 3- Mr. Devan Gracyalny, Mr. Ray Nazer, and Ms. Patricia Wolfe Others Attending Shaun Mueller, Community & Economic Development Coordinator Jenny Kosek, Communications Strategist C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. 19-0302 April 10, 2019 (draft) Minutes Attachments: April 10, 2019 (draft) Minutes A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Ms. Fonaas, that the minutes of the April 10, 2019 meeting be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Mayor Devine, Ms. Fonaas, Ms. Hart, and Mr. Noll No: 0 D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 2. 19-0303 Financial Report - Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer Mr. Mueller reported that as of May 8, 2019, the balance on hand is $5,192.14. A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Noll, that the Financial Report be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Mayor Devine, Ms. Fonaas, Ms. Hart, and Mr. Noll No: 0 E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION 3. 19-0304 Report from the West Allis Historical Society Ms. Hart reported that an old historic phone booth has been installed at the Historical Society. The state needs to be contacted in regards to design approval. 4. 19-0305 Status Reports - Historical Commission Projects and Activities A. Log Schoolhouse The Log School will be open to the public beginning Sunday, May 12th, 2019. Looking for Fresh Cab Rodent Repellent to prevent rodents from entering the Log School. It was also reported that moss is growing on the roof of the Log School. B. Seneca Station Nothing to report. C. Social Media Updates Nothing to report. 5. 19-0306 Discussion regarding June Historic Preservation to replace Settlers Weekend Discussion ensued regarding having the Pop Up Library at the Historic Preservation event. F. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Mayor Devine, seconded by Ms. Hart, that the meeting adjourn at 4:22 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Mayor Devine, Ms. Fonaas, Ms. Hart, and Mr. Noll No: 0 All meetings of the {bdName} are public meetings. In order for the general public to make comments at the committee meetings, the individual(s) must be scheduled (as an appearance) with the chair of the committee or the appropriate staff contact; otherwise, the meeting of the committee is a working session for the committee itself, and discussion by those in attendance is limited to committee members, the mayor, other alderpersons, staff and others that may be a party to the matter being discussed.
