City of West Allis Meeting Minutes Historical Commission Wednesday, July 10, 2019 4:03 PM City Hall, Room 128 7525 W. Greenfield Ave. REGULAR MEETING A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gracyalny at 4:03 p.m. B. ROLL CALL Present 4- Mr. Devan Gracyalny, Ms. Barbara Hart, Mr. Ray Nazer, and Mr. John Noll Excused 3- Mayor Dan Devine, Ms. Sarah Fonaas, and Ms. Patricia Wolfe Others Attending Shaun Mueller, Community & Economic Development Coordinator C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. 19-0430 June 12, 2019 (draft) Minutes Attachments: 6-12-19 (draft) Minutes A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Nazer, that the minutes of the June 12, 2019 meeting be approved.. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, and Mr. Noll No: 0 D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 2. 19-0431 Financial Report - Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer Mr. Gracyalny reported that as of July 10, 2019, the balance on hand is $6,021.27. A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Noll, that the Financial Report be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, and Mr. Noll No: 0 E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION 3. 19-0432 Report from the West Allis Historical Society Mr. Gracyalny reported on "Those Were the Days" event. Unfortunately, the rain came & basically rained out the event. Mr. Gracyalny also mentioned that the doors at the Histocial Society need to be repaired and he is getting information to an architect. 4. 19-0433 Status Reports - Historical Commission Projects and Activities A. Log Schoolhouse The window sills and frames need to be painted. Seneca Station The windows at the Seneca Station need to be washed. C. Social Media Updates The Communications Department has been promoting, "100 Years at the Market". 5. 19-0434 Recap of “Those Were the Days” Event held on June 30, 2019 This matter was discussed during the report from the West Allis Historical Society. 6. 19-0435 Demolition of the Wehr Office Building located at 10201 W. Lincoln Avenue Mr. Mueller reported that a hotel is proposed on the Wehr site. The office building would be demolished as part of the hotel development. Mr. Mueller indicated that the building is potentially eligible for the National Register. Mr. Gracyalny indicated that he would walk through the building to photograph and see if there is anything historic worth requesting from the building. F.
