City of West Allis Meeting Minutes Historical Commission Wednesday, September 11, 2019 4:07 PM City Hall, Room 128 7525 W. Greenfield Ave. REGULAR MEETING A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gracyalny at 4:07 p.m B. ROLL CALL Present 6- Ms. Sarah Fonaas, Mr. Devan Gracyalny, Ms. Barbara Hart, Mr. Ray Nazer, Mr. John Noll, and Ms. Patricia Wolfe Excused 1- Mayor Dan Devine Others Attending Shaun Mueller, Community & Economic Development Coordinator Jenny Kosek, Communications Strategist C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. 19-0547 August 14, 2019 (draft) Minutes Attachments: 8-14-19 (draft) Minutes A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Ms. Wolfe, that the minutes of the August 14, 2019 meeting be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, Mr. Noll, and Ms. Wolfe No: 0 D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 2. 19-0548 Financial Report - Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer Mr. Gracyalny reported that as of September 11, 2019, the balance on hand is $5,658.74. A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Ms. Wolfe, that the Financial Report be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, Mr. Noll, and Ms. Wolfe No: 0 E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION 3. 19-0549 Report from the West Allis Historical Society Mr. Gracyalny reported that the Annual Fall Banquet will be held on October 21, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. There will be a presentation on the Hatfields versus the McCoys. Mr. Gracyalny also mentioned that they had a good turnout for the Historic Walking Tour. It was decided to place on nexts months agenda, an item to discuss public viewing next year of the West Allis Post Office. Log Schoolhouse The Log Schoolhouse will close for the season on the last Sunday in October. It will be open on December 8, 2019 for the Christmas Open House. B. Seneca Station Nothing to report. C. Social Media Updates Jenny Kosek reported that in Urban Milwaukee, there was an article of interest on Schlinger Avenue. It was also mentioned that tomorrow, Thursday, September 12, 2019, the 'Gathering of the Orange' would be leaving Summit Place at 9:30 a.m. and traveling to the fair grounds in Racine. F. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Ms. Wolfe, to adjourn the meeting at 4:22 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Ms. Fonaas, Mr. Gracyalny, Ms. Hart, Mr. Nazer, Mr. Noll, and Ms. Wolfe No: 0 All meetings of the {bdName} are public meetings. In order for the general public to make comments at the committee meetings, the individual(s) must be scheduled (as an appearance) with the chair of the committee or the appropriate staff contact; otherwise, the meeting of the committee is a working session for the committee itself, and discussion by those in attendance is limited to committee members, the mayor, other alderpersons, staff and others that may be a party to the matter being discussed.
