REGULAR MEETING
A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gracyalny at 4:10 p.m.
B. ROLL CALL
Present 4- Barbara Hart, Devan Gracyalny, Ray Nazer, and Patricia Wolfe
Excused 3- Mayor Dan Devine, Sarah Fonaas, and John Noll

C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. 21-0233 May 12, 2021 (draft) Minutes

A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Nazer, that the minutes of the
May 12, 2021 meeting be Approved. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 4- Hart, Gracyalny, Nazer, and Wolfe

D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS
2. 21-0234 Consideration relative to the Financial Report for the period ending 6/8/21
presented by Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer
Mr. Gracyalny reported that as of 6/2/21, the current balance on hand is $6,269.83.
A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Ms. Wolfe, that the Financial
Report be Approved. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 4- Hart, Gracyalny, Nazer, and Wolfe
No: 0
E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
3. 21-0235 Report from the West Allis Historical Society
Mr. Gracyalny reported that there are 2 holes in the roof of the Log Schoolhouse.
Ms. Hart requested that Mr. Gracyalny purchase LED lights for the Log Schoolhouse light
sources. Mr. Nazer seconded that suggestion.

4. 21-0236 Status Reports - Historical Commission Projects and Activities
A. Log Schoolhouse
It was reported to the Commission that the furnace is not lighting.
B. Seneca Station
A suggestion was made to wait until fall to clean out the Seneca Station.
C. Social Media Updates
Mr. Gracyalny reported that the 1840 Brewing, Traveling Beer Garden Event was put on
the City website as well as on the museum Facebook page. The City needs to update
the social media pages for the scheduled Beer Garden dates for the remainder of the
year.
5. 21-0237 Review of the 2021 Beer Garden Event held on the Historical Society
grounds/Honey Creek Park
It was reported that the 2021 Beer Garden Event went very well. The picnic tables that
were brought out for the event are now being used by individuals during the week.
6. 21-0238 Discussion regarding the design and contracting for the new doors on the
Historical Society building, funded through Community Development Block
Grant (CDBG) funds
Mr. Gracyalny inquired if the doors for the Historical Society building had been ordered
yet? There appears to be a document that the Mayor and Ms. Grill need to sign. The
estimate is from Acker Millwork.
7. 21-0239 Discussion regarding restarting the Log Schoolhouse Field Trips for the
West Allis-West Milwaukee School District for the 2022 school year
Mr. Mueller reported that he needs to strategize with the Communications Department on
the publicizing of the Log Schoolhouse Field Trips.
Mr. Gracyalny would like to see the invitation expanded to seniors etc., but needs a
marketing plan to make it work.
8. 21-0240 Discussion regarding potential maintenance items and improvements at
the Honey Creek Cemetery
Mr. Gracyalny reported that all the items noted to the State Historical Society Burial
Grounds may be considered standard maintenance, however, a plan must get submitted
to the State and then the State sends it to interested parties for comments.
A Go Fund Me page is set up, and money would go to the West Allis Historical
Commission. So far, $550 has been raised.
Mr. Gracyalny would like to get the Cemetery Plat Map on the City Website. In addition,
he also mentioned that the list of Local Landmarks #1-11 need to be expanded on the
Website.

F. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Nazer, to adjourn the meeting
at 5:03 p.m. This matter was Approved. The motion carried by the following
vote:
