REGULAR MEETING (draft minutes)
A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gracyalny at 4:01 p.m.
B. ROLL CALL
Present 5- Sarah Fonaas, Devan Gracyalny, Ray Nazer, John Noll, and Patricia Wolfe
Excused 2- Mayor Dan Devine, and Barbara Hart

C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. 21-0292 June 9, 2021 (draft) Minutes
Attachments: 6-9-21 (draft) Minutes
A motion was made by Mr. Nazer, seconded by Ms. Wolfe, that the minutes of the
June 9, 2021 meeting be Approved. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 5- Fonaas, Gracyalny, Nazer, Noll, and Wolfe

D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS
2. 21-0293 Consideration relative to the Financial Report for the period ending 7/8/21
presented by Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer
Mr. Gracyalny reported that the current balance on hand is $6,269.83.
A motion was made by Ms. Wolfe, seconded by Mr. Noll, that the Financial
Report be Approved. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 5- Fonaas, Gracyalny, Nazer, Noll, and Wolfe
No: 0
E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
3. 21-0294 Report from the West Allis Historical Society
The 1840 Brewing, Traveling Beer Garden Event on July 10th was well attended.
The next 2 beer garden events will be held on August 7th and August 28th.

4. 21-0295 Status Reports - Historical Commission Projects and Activities
A. Log Schoolhouse
Mr. Gracyalny reported that the City still needs to address the 2 holes in the roof.
B. Seneca Station
Mr. Noll stated that the door at the Seneca Station is cloudy and discolored.
C. Social Media Updates
This item was tabled until the next meeting.
5. 21-0296 Discussion regarding the design and contracting for the new doors on the
Historical Society building, funded through Community Development Block
Grant (CDBG) funds
Mr. Gracyalny reported that he spoke to the State Historic Preservation Officer. Ideally,
the state would like the doors to remain and be fixed. We need to obtain an expert
statement from Acker Millwork as to why the doors need to be replaced. It was also
noted that estimates for the door have come in under budget.
6. 21-0297 Discussion regarding restarting the Log Schoolhouse Field Trips for the
West Allis-West Milwaukee School District for the 2022 school year
In addition to sending information on the Log Schoolhouse Field Trips to the School
District, it was also suggested that it be expanded to senior living facilities.
7. 21-0298 Discussion regarding the Honey Creek Cemetery
Mr. Gracyalny commented that a plan must go to the state, and that the state does not
think it will likely be a problem.
An incremental approach was suggested: x amount of stones preserved each year for x
amount of years.
Ms. Pocian inquired if soil can be added to the low spots? Mr. Gracyalny replied yes.
Ald. Roadt is going to apply for the Honey Creek Cemetery to be the beneficiary for the
Community Dinner Dance.
8. 21-0299 Discussion regarding preservation of items from the former St. Aloysius
Church
If possible, the committee would like to get the cornerstone from St. Aloysius Church. In
addition, they are also interested the the statue of St. Aloysius.
F. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Mr. Nazer, seconded by Ms. Wolfe, to adjourn the
meeting at 4:58 p.m. This matter was Approved. The motion carried by the
following vote:
