Board of Police Commissioners

REGULAR MEETING WEST HAVEN BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS FEBRUARY 3, 2015 The Regular Meeting of the West Haven Board of Police Commissioners was held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Police Headquarters, 200 Saw Mill Road, West Haven, Ct. Present were Commissioners Raymond Collins, R.K. Smith, Deborah Wright, Paul Butler Jr, and Andrew Giaquinto. Also present were Chief John Karajanis, Deputy Chief Joseph Perno, Det/Sgt Walter Casey, and Brent Watt, Council Liaison. After the Pledge of Allegiance, Chairperson Collins called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. 1. Election of New Officers A motion was made by Commissioner Smith, and seconded by Commissioner Butler that all the present Officers retain their current position, this was approved unanimously. 2. Minutes of January 20, 2015 There were no corrections/additions made to the Minutes of January 20, 2015. A motion was presented by Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Wright and approved unanimously. 3. Public Input Sgt Walter Casey spoke in regards to Ofc Jason Anderson leaving the Department unhappy, because of no Pension Plan. 4. Communications: 4.1 Monthly Injury and Lost Time Reports – November/December 2014 4.2 Letter of Appreciation –Ofc C. Parillo, Ofc J. Masi, and Ofc Izzo. –Dr. Paul Lewis 5. Report of the Chief Chief Karajanis reported on the following: 1. Administrative ATAC scheduled for tomorrow 2. He will be visiting the Police Academy next week  3. The ongoing investigation of the December 14, 2014 incident that happened at 1088 Orange Avenue, West Haven. 6. Old Business—None 7. New Business 7.1 The Resignation of Officer Jason Anderson, effective February 12, 2015. A motion was presented by Commissioner Butler, seconded by Commissioner Smith and approved unanimously. 8. Pension Board 8.1 Dave Moran spoke in regards to the Police Pension 9. Report of Committees – None 10. Commissioners Reports – None 11. Executive Session – There was no Executive Session A motion was presented by Commissioner Smith and seconded by Commissioner Butler and approved unanimously to adjourn at 7:32PM Minutes recorded by Paul E Butler Jr.
