REGULAR MEETING WEST HAVEN BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS NOVEMBER 3, 2015 The Regular Meeting of the West Haven Board of Police Commissioners was held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Police Headquarters, 200 Saw Mill Rd., West Haven, CT. Present were Commissioners Raymond Collins, R.K. Smith, Deborah Wright, Paul Butler, Jr and Andrew Giaquinto. Also present were Chief John Karajanis, Deputy Chief Joseph Perno and, Det/Sgt Walter Casey, President of Local 895. Brent Watt, Council Liaison.was not present. After the Pledge of Allegiance, Chairperson Collins called the meeting to order at 7;00 pm. There were no items added to the November 3, 2015 Agenda. A motion was then presented by Commissioner Butler to accept the November 3, 2015 Agenda. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Giaquinto and approved unanimously. 1. Minutes of October 20, 2015 There were no additions/corrections were made to the Minutes of October 20, 2015: A motion was then presented by Commissioner Smith to accept the Minutes of October 20, 2015. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Butler and approved unanimously. 2. Public Input Det/Sgt Casey addressed the Commissioners regarding the urgency of filling the Det/Sgt positions and to be aware of the problem if this isn’t addressed. 3. Communications 3.1 Monthly Injury & lost Time Reports – September 2015 3.2 Monthly Overtime Report – October 2015 3.3 Letter of Appreciation – Chief Karajanis, D/C Perno & BOPC – John D. Morgan & Family 3.4 Letter of Appreciation – Chief Karajanis, Traffic & Patrol Units – Gail DiReinzo, Denise & Jay Finkle 4. Report of the Chief Chief Karajanis reported on the following: 1. There will be a ATAC meeting tomorrow at 9 AM and the parking problem on Terrace Avenue will be discussed. He also reported that letters have been sent to the residents. 2. There will be a Community meeting at Headquarters tomorrow night.  -2- 4. Report of the Chief (Con’t) 3. He reported that Mayor O’Brien asked for a meeting tomorrow at 6:00 PM regarding the car thefts in the West Shore area. He stated that he and Deputy Chief Perno will be attending 5. Pension Board At this time Chairperson Collins turned the chair over to Chairperson Wright to discuss the following: 7.1 Dave Moran – Morgan Stanley Mr Moran discussed the Pension Funds and also informed the Commissioners that 2 portfolio managers will be replaced. He also informed them that he will be at the December meeting. After discussion Chairperson Wright turned the chair over Chairperson Collins to continue the meeting. 8. Report of Committees – Personnel Committee Chairperson Smith had no report 9. Commissioners Reports None 10. Executive None A motion was presented by Commissioner Smith to adjourn at 7:35 PM.
