REGULAR MEETING WEST HAVEN BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS December 1, 2015 The Regular Meeting of the West Haven Board of Police Commissioners was held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Police Headquarters, 200 Saw Mill Road, West Haven, Ct. Present were Commissioners Collins, Smith, Wright, Butler, and Giaquinto. Also Chief Karajanis, Deputy Chief Perno, and Det/Sgt Walter Casey, and Brent Watt, Council Liaison. After the Pledge of Allegiance, Chairperson Collins called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. 1. Minutes of November 17, 2015 There was one amendment to the Minutes of November 17, 2015. Commissioner Collins was absent from the meeting and Commissioner Smith called the meeting to order. A motion was made by Commissioner Wright and seconded by Commissioner Butler to accept the Minutes as amended. Approved unanimously. 2. Public Input Det/Sgt Walter Casey spoke in regards of promoting a new Det/Sgt., and that they were five short on Detectives. He also spoke on the Contract, the Budget, Pension, and purchasing new Police Cars. 3. Communications 3.1 Monthly Injury & Lost Time Reports - October 2015 3.2 Letter of Appreciation – WHPD – Family of Herrnianer 3.3 Letter of Appreciation – WHPD – Keyes Family 4. Report of the Chief The Chief reported that He, along with Capt. Giuliano and Capt. DiMeola attended South Central to look at reducing “Alarm Dispatches”. He also spoke on replacing vehicles, and repairs to the fleet. Chief Karajanis will be having an ATAC Meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 at 9:30AM. 5. Old Business – None 6. New Business 6.1 Ordinance Violation Hearing – Nicholas DeMaio – Dispute Tow Commissioner Wright made a motion to reimburse Mr. DeMaio for the tow, seconded by Commissioner Smith. 6.2 Ordinance Violation Hearing – Ms. Garcia – Blight Commissioner Wright made a motion to drop the charge, seconded by Commissioner Smith. 7. Pension Board – None 8. Report of Committees – Personnel Committee – None 9. Commissioner Reports – None 10. Executive Session – Entered into Executive Session at 7:25 A motion was presented by Commissioner Wright and seconded by Commission Smith and approved unanimously to adjourn at 7:37PM.
