Page 1 of 2 The regular meeting of the Mayor and Council was held in the Council room of West Point City Hall September 10, 2018 at 5:30 P.M. with Mayor Steven M. Tramell presiding. Members Present: Members Absent: Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III Mayor Pro-Tem Sandra Thornton Councilmember Alanteo “Henry” Hutchinson Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall Councilmember Benjamin F. Wilcox Mayor Tramell called Rev. John Fredrick Associate pastor, West Side Baptist Church Lanett, Alabama for opening prayer. Mayor Tramell led the Pledge of allegiance. Mayor Tramell called the meeting of the Council to order and welcomed everyone. MINUTES Mayor Tramell asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the August 13, 2018 regular meeting. Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III made said motion and was seconded by Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall; the minutes were approved unanimously without change. FINANCIAL REPORT Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter presented the August financial report with the September cash position and forecast and made a motion to accept the report; motion seconded by Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall and passed unanimously. AGENDA Mayor Tramell asked for a motion to approve the agenda. Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter made said motion and seconded by Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III and passed unanimously. 1 Page 2 of 2 FREEPORT RESOLUTION Councilmember Alanteo “Henry” Hutchinson made a motion to approve a resolution that will provide the Georgia Department of Revenue with documents required to provide Freeport Exemption to eligible businesses within the City of West Point. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Gloria Ramsey Marshall; passed unanimously. MILLAGE RATE Councilmember Benjamin F. Wilcox made a motion to approve the millage rate of 9.275 for 2018. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III; passed unanimously. OTHER ADJOURN Mayor Tramell asked for a motion to adjourn. Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter made said motion and seconded by Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III; passed unanimously.
