Westminster Historic District Commission MINUTES OF MEETING Wednesday, June 3, 2015 City Hall, 7:00 PM 1. Call to Order a. Statement of Authority—The Westminster Historic District Commission derives its authority from Chapter 164, Article 9A of the City Code; which is derived from Article 66B, Section 8 of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The qualifications of the Westminster Historic District Commission are on file at the City Administration Building, 56 W. Main Street; the file is open to the public. b. Roll Call In attendance was Kris McMasters, Chairman, Dean Camlin, Co-Chairman, Kevin Wagman, Greg Goodell and Jane Kacmarski. 2. Approval of Minutes Upon motion by Commissioner Wagman and second by Commissioner Camlin, the minutes of the May 6, 2015, meeting were approved. 3. Public Hearings No public hearings were scheduled. 4. Old Business No old business. 5. New Business a. Discussion of the holiday reception—the Holiday reception will be scheduled before the Historical Society Winter Wine Warmer. The Winter Wine Warmer is a fundraiser for the Historical Society while the reception is a thank you for the members of the City’s Boards and Commissions. It was suggested that we try to get a slide show from National Historic Trust to run continuously during the reception and display the preservation month posters as a way to market the Commission’s activities. Greg volunteered pictures of the before and after of his renovation to be displayed on sandwich boards. b. Discussion of the 2016 House Tour—if the House Tour is going to be marketed at the Flower and Jazz Festival, the location has to be discussed. The Commissioners discussed the various past locations featured on the House Tour and also raised the idea of sponsoring a World War II Reenactors Dance at the Armory instead of a House Tour. 6. Commissioner Reports a. Commissioner Camlin reported on the status of the renovations to City Hall which included the installation of a second floor exit stairway and the work being done  on Kohn Creative which is being partially funded by Neighborhood Business Works and the Façade Improvement Program. b. Commissioner Kacmarski volunteered to be the liaison with the Historical Society. c. Chairman McMasters asked that the application forms and information on the web site be changed to reflect the $5,000 threshold instead of the $10,000 threshold. 7. Staff Report a. City Administrator Wolf reported that the replacement seal for the Armory has been approved by the Historical Trust and will be installed this summer. 8. Public Comment 9.
